  1. I didn’t have any band posters when I was growing up……instead I had a saying which said “Do not go where the path may lead. Make a path so that others may follow.”………………or something like that.

  2. Xmas Eve always watched It’s “A Wonderful Life” with eggnog. Then in the middle of one night, I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus, LOL, just kidding. We would open one present.
We still do it to this day. Singing Xmas carols has always big in our house. At work we have the radio set to a Xmas station. So, by Xmas I will be sick of Xmas Music. Stay X mas Groovy!!!!!

  3. My posters changed a lot, it started with planes, before custom cars, then later in my teenage years Tracey Ullman and Kim Wild, which were massive life-size posters and and Queen & Dire Straits. Tracey and Kim came to university with me, and the rest of my walls and ceiling were covered in posters I made myself of all the processes I was taught about in my biochemistry degree course. Making the posters and seeing them all the time helped me remember them, and I can still remember many of them today even though I have never used them in the last 35 odd years. The only posters I have on my walls now are of “The Mona Lisa Twins”, I don’t know if you have heard of them ????

  4. Here I am fashionably a day late ..day 4 commenting on day 3….The Beatles were #1 for me in the early-mid 60s..then came The Bee Gees leading the Second British Invasion mid-late 60s a decade before becoming the Kings of Disco…my only poster I ever had hanging on a wall was from the Cucumber Castle album of The Bee Gees…only Barry and Maurice were pictured..at the time I didn’t know that Robin had quit the group and gone solo…I was living in Utah at the time and my wife was furious with me for spending money on a poster and framing when we were financially struggling as a young couple just getting OUR life together started…your poster project today brings back so many memories…THANK YOU. !….I am hopeful that the poster pic that I am sending is successful…I sometimes struggle with these supposedly simple tasks

  5. First in the ´60 I had a poster of Elvis Presley, later then a “Starschnitt” out of the “Bravo” Magazin of The Beatles on the wall. Have a fine 2. Advent! With love from Frank

  6. No posters to speak of growing up. In my twenties I bought myself a Bangles poster and a (girl)friend of mine gave me a life-size poster of Marilyn Monroe.

  7. I didn’t have a band poster on my wall when I was a kid. But, I did have one with 2 birds on it…I have a poster of the Carpenters on my wall now.

  8. Hi to everyone
I can remember having a poster of Farrah Fawcett in a red bathing suit.
I also had many Beatles posters. Those were the days, lots of good memories.

  9. I love the sound of the posters bouncing off your heads… was the sound from the cardboard tubes or from your heads? j/k!
My poster was from KMET… a favorite independent rock station playing in the ’70s and ’80s in the Los Angeles area. It had a flower and said, “A way all your own… That’s blooming!” It became my life’s mantra. 🙂

  10. I didn’t have a lot of band posters but I do remember having the Wings World Tour poster that came with Wings Over America 3-LP set. Most of the other posters were comic book-related characters (that was a long time ago so my memory is a little suspect I’m afraid). EDIT: If 10 isn’t enough just rate the tea an 11 like Spinal Tap.

  11. Hello Mona and Lisa, I didn’t have any posters on the walls when I was young but enjoy seeing your Advent Calendar videos every day!

  12. My walls had posters/advertisements for R&B bands appearing in D.C. I was fortunate enough to grow up with R&B and the emergence of Rock & Roll. It was a great time to be a fan of both! The addition of the British groups, mainly the Beatles, Was a huge step forward for variety and technique. Thank you for keeping the Beatles alive and the other group covers that you perform.

  13. Good afternoon everyone, congratulations to today’s winners.

As a child I did not have posters when I could have them my brother upholstered the walls with posters of motocross and Metallica.

Today’s video was a lot of fun, the poster war made me laugh.

  14. Growing up with 8 people in one small house and 5 boys living in the same room there really wasn’t any wall space to lay claim to for posters. Lol. When I had a place for myself I had the Beatles posters from the White Album on my wall and a poster of the Eagles. I collect Beatles White albums that have the serial number stamped on them and have quite a few of them in my accumulation of Beatles albums and bootlegs. Also had a poster of Julian Lennon’s Valotte album when that came out years later.

  15. It’s so much fun to see what everybody had on their wall, especially in the different decades.
My mother would not allow any posters on the wall, but after some convincing from my brother and I, we had a cork area on the wall above our headboards, and though we shared a room, we each had our own wall to put stuff up. This was in the early 80’s.

I’ve been wracking my brain and I can’t remember what I had there, surely it changed over time. I do remember a postcard I got from the Beatles fan club and I was over the moon that I had gotten a reply all the way to Argentina! It had the picture of Paul and Martha. I also had the cover of Time with John and probably some posters of the school plays I was in. I remember a cartoon my mother put above my head making fun of my tardiness in the morning (the one below is not the exact one, but the same idea). I also may have had the White Album poster.

This is fun! What a great December routine!

  16. The posters in my room when I was young – were first and foremost with “The Beatles”, but later also with Danish bands such as “Walkers”, which was a glam rock band. It was founded in 1968 and broke up in 1977. They never managed to become known abroad.

A big hit of theirs was “Forever Together”. I think many of you will like the song, please enjoy:

  17. I saved and saved and finally finally had enough money to buy a cheap black light and a couple “black light posters” that glowed amazingly! The posters were just swirls and shapes of nothing basically but fun to look at. My other poster was a very stupid poster I got out of a National Lampoon magazine! It was a horrible poster but at the time I thought it was cool…LOL. (my Dad hated it so you know it was cool right???lol)

  18. We had three boys and two girls in the family, and the three of us shared a room so no posters until my oldest sister went off to college. I was in high school before I had my own room, but I still have my copy of the Farrah Fawcett red swimsuit poster, which was a true pop culture phenomenon at the time.

  19. Hello my dear Mona Lisa. I’m old. Just caught your calander. Been broken down in Nebraska for 3 days. Today is my oldest daughter’s birthday. The posters I had on my wall when I was a teen was a Jimmy Hendrix black light poster. And I painted myself a copy of a Jethro Tull poster. Everthing else was strange paintings I did. Love you all!

  20. I had a Beatles poster, but I don’t remember which one, and a motorcycle poster from the album of the movie Electra Glide in Blue.

    William Hauslein

  21. Congrats to the winners!!! I had the Beatles on every wall after seeing them at Red Rocks especially in 1964. Stay Groovy!!!

  22. We got some nice posters on the wall of our band rehearsal room. It shows guitar riffs and tabs of famous rock riffs. My favourite poster is an illustrated catalog from the Rickenbacker guitar company.

  23. Hello everyone,

I wasn’t really into posters but had one or two Beatles ones plus one of a Tyrrell 007 Racing Car (not sure why now). Also some of my favourite steam locos after a visit to the new (in 1975) National Railway Museum in York.

Mona, was the first clonk on the head of Lisa retribution for the time she appeared to hit you with a hammer on the Maxwell Silver Hammer video? This was near the very end of the video.

    1. That’s at least 3 of us with Yes posters that I’ve noticed. Old crowd. 😀 Unfortunately, I wasn’t old enough to go to a concert on my own until 90125, but that was a hell of a show and quite a departure from the standard. Uriah Heep is a rather unusual poster for this group. Reminds me, I also had a Molly Hatchett poster later on.

  24. I grew up in a small town, and posters weren’t really a thing. I had pennants on the wall of baseball teams and my high school. As a freshman in college, I had a large poster of W. C. Fields holding cards in his hands.

  25. I was a fan of Johnny Rivers that started with his Live at the Whiskey a Go Go album. Naturally my wall was decorated with posters of JR. The Dave Clark 5 and Lovin’ Spoonful also at one time or another had their spot.

  26. Wow! When Leo, our newly adopted Lhapso Apso, heard the bells at the beginning and the end of your video, he got so excited. Apparently, Leo likes bells. We’ll have to get him some.
Posters. My middle brother and I shared a bedroom. I had one side and he the other. We both had Beatles Posters on our walls. He added a Stones poster at some and I stuck with the Beatles.
Now I have your Posters on the walls of my music room. ????❤

  27. Many from days way past. The Everly Brothers, the original Kingston Trio, and Joni Mitchell to name just a few. Love the music of my youth. You two reach down into my soul with all of your music. Keep up the great work. Love Jackie

  28. You ladies look even more beautiful every morning! Super fun seeing you every morning – I was so anxious I checked at 6AM EST today.
I had a Beatles at the London Palladium and then I got a Linda Ronstadt poster as teenager .

  30. I only ever had Beatles posters. I was a member of the fan club and each year they would send out one-sided singles (which were very flimsy plastic) with Christmas greetings and a special photo. In the last year of the club, 1970, we received actual lps which had all of the Christmas Greetings thru the years. In 1969 they sent a 26” wide by 18” high color poster. I still have them all, though the 51 year old poster is a bit torn and tattered. Poor Ringo seems to have had the hardest time. The photos are of the top halves. I hope that you enjoy seeing these and stop bopping each others’ heads, lol! Keep up Groovy Advent!

  31. I like the subtle way you kept banging each other on the head. I bet you’re as punchy as me now. I had posters for the phases of my life – Beatles and Steppenwolf then into boxing/martial arts there was Ali and Bruce Lee. Finally into bodybuilding there was Steve Reeves. You two are so funny during these little videos. I laugh so much.

  32. My youth was not lately. Now, all I remember is the London Palladium poster with the Beatles in the doorway of a blue brick wall. Now, I see that the photo is reversed and the Command Performance was at the Prince of Wales Theatre, not the Palladium. Maybe I should get the tattered thing out and hang it on my wall again.

  33. Like so many I had rock band posters.. The Beatles (Abbey Road), Queen, etc.. and as a guy who has always been into cars I had a Giant Poster of an early (1966) Ford Mustang…. Years later I have a full sized version of that same car parked in my garage!

  34. Wow………have to think really hard on this one. Was so long ago. I think my favorite poster was a 3″x4″ black light poster of Paul McCartney sitting in a yoga position. It was made up using mostly orange & black florescent paints. Wish I still had it. Others hanging on my walls we’re Janis Joplin & George Harrison(from the All Things Must Pass album).

  35. What a thought provoking question ladies. I think I had phases. As a growing schoolboy I had the obligatory scantily clad ladies Rachel Welch being my particular favourite???? then I moved on to racing cars and bikes until I got bored of those and started posting groups and individual Artists. My two favourites were from Imagine and one of the Abbey Road cover.????????

  36. Happy Holidays Mona and Lisa! CDs weren’t around yet when I was young, so most of the posters I taped to my wall were the fold-outs that came with vinyl LPs. The one I remember the most vividly (and wish I still had) was the poster of John, Paul, George, and Ringo from the White album.

  37. I had military airplane posters and also scenes of mountain rivers for fishing. One time I put up the full page color ad from the newspaper for the brand new 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang

  38. Hi Mona and Lisa! When I was a kid I had 70’s era Elton John posters and also I recall having a poster of the band Chicago I had one of Alice Cooper from 1972 for a while, too.

  39. When I was a teen a little less than 40 years ago, I had posters from mostly eighties television. I had K.I.T.T. the car from Knight Rider. The Fall Guy’s truck with Lee Majors, Douglas Barr and Heather Thomas posing in front of it and my last major one was a poster from Back to the Future with the Delorean Time Machine, Marty and Doc Brown. The one music poster I remember was the cover art from Quiet Riot’s Metal Health album. My music tastes have changed over the years, my movie and television taste has not 🙂

  40. Not exactly a band. On my dorm room wall. Francoise Hardy. In the leather jacket on the motorcycle. Now 50+ years later I have that unforgettable 60’s image on a favorite t-shirt.

  41. I used to take lots of photos at concerts. One of my best captured Roger Daltrey of The Who in mid-swing. (If you’ve ever seen the Who perform, you know what I mean!) I had it enlarged it made into a poster — not for commercial use, just my own.

  42. Love the bopping of the heads with the posters….LOL…So cool ….my ones were Elvis, Beatles and The Rolling Stones. I made our downstairs to a music cave with my drums and record player and posters all over the walls, so much fun and music. Rocking out in the 1970’s!! Stay groovy
    Bill and Maddie Isenberg

  43. A hand drawn poster (By our drummer) of the first band i was in called “The Noise”
Yes, the name described our attempt at music very well :o)

  44. Big CONGRATS to the two new mutton-punchers! Yeah, I might watch too many old westerns, but they keep Dad happy. ???? Good luck everyone, but don’t be surprised if your prizes have a few Wagner Twin-head-shaped creases in them! I don’t remember any band posters on my walls growing up, but my sister let her boyfriend put up an Alice Cooper poster in her room his mother wouldn’t allow in her house. My walls had Don “the Snake” Prudhomme and Tom “the Mongoose” McEwen drag racing posters, and Roger Staubach ???? and Chris Everett ???? posters. ROCK ON! ????‍????????‍????

  45. You are not human if you have a cardboard tube in your hand and you don’t bonk the person closest to you with it. I actually never had posters in my room.

  46. Just got done playing catch-up for the past 3 days. My, how fun these are. The lambs are so stinkin’ cute.

Honestly, I know there should be dozens of things I hung on my walls in my youth but that was ages ago, and the only thing I recall, is a poster of a cat hanging by its paws from a tree with the word’s “Hang in there, Friday’s coming.”

  47. Avril Lavigne – nice to know you were listening to a Canadian! I didn’t have many posters growing up but I do remember having one Beach boys poster, and one of the Beatles. Of course, there were the magazine posters of David Cassidy and later his brother Shaun that went up briefly.

  48. Boy, does that take me back! I was maybe 11 or 12 years old when I hung a copy of an old Dracula movie poster in my bedroom. Why? I have no idea. I had never even seen a Dracula movie so maybe I thought I was being cool and edgy. It didn’t work!

  49. I did not have much room at the walls of my room, because there were mostly shelves with books, comics and vinyl singles. Later, I put a poster of the Dutch girl group Dolly Dots on the wall in our hallway and my zodiac sign by the Dutch painter Johfra on the inside of my room’s door. By then I was around 19, so actually not really growing up anymore, though one can argue that a human being is in a lifelong process of growing (up) 🙂

  50. That was soooo long ago. But I still have them! My main ones were YES, Boston, and Susanna Hoffs with her Rickenbacker. Oh, and of course, my Phoebe Cates. I was a teen in the 80’s after all.

  51. Wow! I get to take care of Lisa’s lamb, Lumpy Bumpy 2.0. I was shocked when Lisa drew my name! I promise I will take very good care of him! Congratulations to Paul, on winning Mona’s lamb. I didn’t really have any posters on my wall growing up, but my neighbor drew me a poster to put on my bass drum of my drum kit. It was Yellow Submarine because it was in 1968. Thank you so much for the lamb! He has a good home!

  52. I had my room filled with astronomy posters… I loved the night sky and following space exploration so had posters of galaxies, planets, and such.

  53. Good afternoon girls My bedroom was loaded with many posters mostly music lots of Beatles however I do have one poster that survived through the war of life which now hangs on the wall of my son’s recording Studio is of Pink Floyd’s Dark side of the moon.Unfortunately I try to take the picture but for some reason it’s not able to be uploaded my camera tells me it’s too large and I don’t know how to fix this otherwise I would Proudly share it with you. If my son were home I’m sure he would be able to figure this out for me unfortunately he is away. Other than that the rest of my posters had a lot to do with dayglo colors that glowed under Ultraviolet lights.

  54. When I was a kid I was very big into the Beatles. My Dad worked in a printing shop and one of the posters he printed was a poster of the original cover of The Beatles Yesterday and Today album with the meat coats and the baby doll parts, so that was one of the posters I had on my wall as a kid.

    1. That is kool, Matt. When I was a kid, I knew a guy that had that album with the original album cover. Young me did not know what to think of it.

      JP

  55. During my teen years I had a constantly-changing array of posters in my room, mostly related to whatever music I was listening to at the time with an occasional movie-themed poster thrown in. I remember most vividly large posters of the covers of The Beatles’ Let it Be and Yes’s Tales from Topographic Oceans albums, and one of Paul Newman and Robert Redford from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, which was the movie that made me fall in love with the movies.

      1. Agreed, Roger Dean’s art was fantastic on those Yes albums! I got the Tales poster at one of their concerts — it had just been released, and they were touring a two-part show in which they played all of Close to the Edge, took a break and came back out to play all of Tales. Very memorable.

  56. Growing up in the 50’s not really allowed. But in the 60’s as I got a into my teenager years, Bruce Lee, early Beatles, the Monkees, Joan Baez and a eight foot black and white psychedelic covering my ceiling. & the 70’s brought out Carol King, Ten Years After and the blues: Thelma Houston, Taj Mahal and Ma Rainey.

  57. As a teenager, I was a huge KISS fan. I had every poster available locally and through the Kiss Army. This was and still is my favorite poster. “The Spirit of 76”

  58. I became a teenager in the 80’s the band I followed and had plenty of posters of especially from the popular magazine Smash Hits was Madness, still listen to them today, takes me back to good times

  59. Way back than, I had several black light posters, and Yellow Submarine.
When my son was young, he was into black light as well, so I got some paints and colored in a yellow submarine poster for him (it was groovy 😉 )

  60. The posters I had back in the day were the mighty Status Quo in the 70’s, The Runaways, Suzi Quatro, and my funky moped back then, Gilera 50.

  61. Hello Ladies,
Love the contest for today. I think we all had Posters on the wall.
I had the life size poster from Chicago LIVE at Carnegie Hall 4 Album set, with 3 posters, tour book also included.
Also had the Beach Boys Summer Tour poster that was blue and Yellow with the Indian sitting on a horse similar to this one. The Indian was Silhouetted against a Full Moon.
They were really cool and stayed up a long time. I still have the Chicago Complete Carnegie Hall Album. With Posters and Tour book. Circa 1969 on both posters.
Thanks for the poster war today. Always a good laugh.
    Best Always Ladies.
Looking forward to the new video.
    Rick

  62. Hallo, and thanks for the shout out! If I could send you fresh clams, I would! I generally take the rest and make chowder to put up in the freezer, but I don’t think it would stay frozen on a trip across the pond.
I didn’t have a lot of music posters in my room, but I did have a lot of cool neon beer signs! The one poster that I did have was Pink Floyd’s “Darkside of the Moon” prism. That made it all the way through college as well.

  63. I had 80’s Bands, like Duran Duran, Adam & the Ants, Depeche mode, all from a teen music magazine out at the time. I still have them along with the magazines they were from stored in the loft. One day I will get them out and reminisce ????

  64. I mostly had posters of ELO, ABBA and then Stevie Nicks before films like Star Wars etc. Those were the days that you got free posters included with some albums. Also had some maps and of course Scottish castles! it was also a big thing in the early 70’s to follow the round the world yacht trip (I think the sailor was Chay Blyth) which was sponsored by British Steel who gave out massive wall posters which you could mark up with little stickers based on daily progress reports on the radio. It was almost like early social media where you could follow someone around the world for the first time. I also have the Avril Lavigne CDs too! I was just looking in my copy of the Radio Times (a UK TV listings mag) which amazingly has instructions for making a felt Robin for Christmas. Maybe a new challenge for you!

  65. “On the third day of Advent, we got from MLT: eight posters, two felted lambs, and three hand-signed Christmas CD’s.”

Like Tom, all my posters were maps: my city, my state, my country, and my planet. I was a geography geek who drew much more inspiration from studying spatial relationships than from listening to music. Given that I was growing up during the height of the disco era, it kind of made sense.

  66. Duran Duran and Glass Tiger ….lol….. and meeting Glass Tiger back 8n 1988-89ish and continuing our friendship ever since then….I did have a few other posters on my walls but Glass Tiger and Duran Duran, dominated…????

  67. Lucky winners, congrats ???? ????
Always music for me in many genres, if my mind serves me well (and it was a looooooong time ago ????) Moved on to lots of wooden Disney ones now in my mancave ????
By the way… WE ARE MUG FRIENDS!! ????

  68. Before I became a professional musician I was interested in hot rods and muscle cars, so there were posters of souped-up GTO’s and Mustangs. I even owned a red 1967 Mustang. Once I began playing music the posters changed to the Beatles and Led Zepplin. Thanks for bringing back some good old memories!

  69. I was into glam rock so it would have been The Sweet, T-Rex & Suzi Quatro. Also a lady called Ayshea Brough who presented a pop show called “Lift Off”

  70. As a kid, I spent most of my free time outside. I have never been much of a poster person, and I don’t remember having any posters on my wall as a kid.

The walls of my “man cave” room are covered with family pictures, a collage of an insane century bike ride I did years ago, and a pair of jeans I wore when I was a little boy.

  71. I didn’t have band posters on my wall growing up, but if I did it would have been Simon and Garfunkel and the Beatles. Today I have this on my wall:

  72. Awesome, looking forward to the new original video. ????
LOL, I thought for a moment a serious mailing tube fight was about to break out! ????
A big congrats to the two extremely lucky winners to win the lambs! ????

What band poster did I have up on my wall! Well I would like to say the Beach Boys, the Beatles, and AC/DC, but no there was someone else posted up on my wall during my teens, that I am too embarrassed to say…..

    1. OK, here it is. I will now go hide the rest of the day. ????????
Teen age crush, what can I say. There rendition of “He’s so Fine” I thought was quite good.

      1. Yay, I guessed correctly! Crushing on Kristy in the 70’s is quite understandable and nothing to be embarrassed about, Jung.

      2. Those funny phases we go through in life. As long as we can laugh at them, it’s good!

  73. I had a Simon and Garfunkel poster from their album and George Harrison’s poster from All Things Must Pass. I also had Tiny Tim, a black light poster of Alfred E Newman from Mad magazine, and a funny one of Spiro Agnew as a hippie. For those who may not remember, Spiro Agnew was Vice President under Richard Nixon.

  74. Beatles(Multiple),Paul McCartney & Wings(76 Tour),George Harrison(Concert for Bangladesh),Rolling Stones(Tattoo You Cover Front & Back),Allman Brothers,and now The Most Talented,Down to Earth,BEAUTIFUL Group out today…..The MonaLisa Twins!!

  75. I only had two posters on my walls growing up – one was the famous Farrah Fawcett poster and the other was a Linda Ronstadt poster. Neither was a group but Linda could sing.
I love when you started “accidentally “ hitting each other with the tubes. It reminded me of my kids carrying on. But the first one that Mona laid on Lisa sounded like it hurt! Bad Mona! And with Krampus coming soon!

  76. All of my posters have been maps.
    I know that’s boring.

Well i still have the album cover for 11-17-70 on my wall which i made into a poster.

  77. David Cassidy , Bobby Sherman and The Osmond Brothers. I love this advent calendar so much. It’s such a blast! I haven’t even seen the video yet, but I think that Willie and Wonka would be cool names. Thanks for bringing me so much happiness..

    https://youtu.be/QJOuTr0BXb4

  78. I remember having posters from the vinyl albums of Queen – Jazz, Eagles – Hotel California and Electric Light Orchestra – Out of the Blue.

  79. Beatles, Dusty Springfield There were some others but that is now so long ago I am struggling to remember.

  80. I’m trying to think of ANY posters I had on my wall growing up. I mean, I know there were some, but not many, and I don’t think any were bands. I was into prog rock back in the day: King Crimson, Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd… they were in my record collection, but I don’t think any were on my wall.
