Day 5 – Full MLT Music Collection (All 10 Albums)

Happy Sunday!

We hope you’re enjoying the weekend and are having a relaxed day. If we had an Adventkranz like we usually did in Austria (we talked about if a little bit in yesterday’s video) we’d be lighting the second candle today 🙂 But we loved reading more about all your holiday traditions yesterday.

Tonight we’re going to go on a Christmas lights trail that our parents surprised us with, so we will keep this short and sweet and try to get a bit of work done before that. We’ll catch you tomorrow morning with a new video!

  1. I don’t own a single Beatles disc. Number one in my collection is J. S. Bach with around 35 discs followed by the MonaLisa Twins as number two.

  2. Uh, only getting around to seeing Sunday’s Video this Monday Morning now….lol… my album collection besides MLT, is probably a tie between Glass Tiger/Duran2/Patsy Cline/Mamas and Papas and a few others….lol…. my Dusty Springfield collection , slowly growing….lol…
I’m still asleep at 4 AM…..will have to watch your videos once I’ve awoken, anytime after 8 AM my time in the morning…lol

Nice to see one of my MLT mug creations make an appearance….????????

  3. Hi Everyone..I’ve already commented on my Album question but as I read everybody else’s comments I realize that when we get past the Beatles / MonaLisa Twins we still have many similarities such as my top 5 are.. Beatles…Bee Gees…Hollies..Moody Blues…Seekers….my favorite Female artists top 3 are Barbra Streisand..Celine Dion…Judith Durham of the Seekers……Male artists…Gene Pitney..Robin Gibb of The Bee Gees…Bobby Vinton….I sure do enjoy the interaction of the MLT Club…Thank You Mona and Lisa…Papa Rudi and Michaela for giving club members this forum.

    1. Great selection of artists there, Rick. Judith Durham is my absolute favorite female vocalist. Just an incredible voice. It’s too bad most Americans don’t know about her.

      1. I think the only hit song The Seekers had in America was Georgy Girl…all their other songs were huge in the UK and some were chart toppers..why they weren’t more successful in the States is a mystery.

      2. I’ll Never Find Another You also did pretty well in the U.S.
Based on discussions I’ve had here in the forum, it sounds like these things are a matter of which markets the record companies decide they want to invest in. Before the internet it was otherwise almost impossible to learn about groups in other countries unless you had a personal connection.
There can be an upside, though. Judith said in her autobiography that she moved to California in the 70’s so that she could pursue her original dream of singing in a jazz club, without the “baggage” of being a pop star.

      3. Two of my favorite songs by The Seekers are “Far Shore” recorded circa 1997 ..written by Harry Vanda and George Young of the Easybeats…they also wrote “Friday on My Mind” that MLT recorded…..the other song is “ I Am Australian” written by Bruce Woodley and Dobe Newton….go to YouTube and bring up The Seekers 25 year reunion and hear and watch them perform this Great tribute to Australia ..it’s breathtaking !

      4. Rick, we are two peas in a pod, Seekerswise. I know both of those songs very well, and I absolutely adore them! I had no idea that Far Shore was written by Vanda and Young, though.

      5. Getting away from The Seekers now…I’m sure you’ve seen the videos of Mike Sweeney singing with MLT…he is not only a famous radio guy for the BBC but also played briefly with The Mindbenders and as a lead vocalist for The Swinging Blue Jeans.

  4. The whole Beatles collection plus solo albums of Wings, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as well. My respect to your every day new beautiful dresses!

  5. Couldn’t afford albums when I was growing up so started in the late 70s. Owned a lot of Queen albums. Strangely enough, my daughter, born in the late 80s, loved Queen and bought everything from them that I didn’t have so now have more Queen than anything else. Am trying to get her interested in another group, I believe they’re called MonaLisa Twins 🙂

  6. It’s hard to say without counting everything I collected over the years.
It might be David Bowie, since I’ve got all the vinyl as well as the CDs.

  7. Without a doubt my largest collection of music is from The Beatles followed by The Moody Blues, Neil Diamond, John Denver, and Linda Ronstadt. The Beatles because they are simply the best. The Moodies for their introspective take on life and music, Neil Diamond for everyday life, TO Life, John Denver for showing me the beauty in life, and Linda Ronstadt for, well, being the greatest female vocalist of my younger years. And when I put together a little money the Mona Lisa Twins will be very close to being next. It’s only a matter of time!

  8. The Beatles are the main name in my music collection. My collection of Beatles records started with the single “Please Please Me”, the first record I ever bought. I still have it, this “My first love” of music.

It’s amazing then, in 2021, to discover that MonaLisa Twins has made a version – that, in my ears, sounds better than the original.

  9. I own 100% (or close to it) of the music produced (on all different formats) by many artists, which I believe is the best measure of my overall admiration for their artistry. That could be five, ten ( ???? ), or in some cases, upwards of twenty or thirty releases. Included on that list would be MLT (of course), Beatles, Eagles, Moody Blues, Genesis, Steely Dan, Rush, Bangles, Linda Ronstadt, Karla Bonoff, Kacey Musgraves, Sara Bareilles, Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Dar Williams, John Denver, Steve Winwood, A Fine Frenzy, R.E.M., Supertramp, Andrea Bocelli, Buddy Holly, Jude Cole, Kevin Gilbert, Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Dan Fogelberg, and many more, but you get the idea. My Beatles playlist, which also includes most of their solo works, numbers 60+ albums and 700+ songs.

BTW, here’s a glimpse of the “light show” we have here in Southern California – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAZTMxceaNE

  10. We’re counting LPs, CDs AND Cassettes. The Beatles, no doubt. If I count John, Paul, George and Ringo solo as Beatles, then MonaLisa Twins come in second place.

Interestingly, even though I digitized over 200 CD’s and gave away the physical copies when I moved from LA to North Carolina, I’m pretty sure I did not have 10 CD’s of a single artist, other than the Beatles. Of course I didn’t get rid of the Beatles’ albums in any form.

Can’t believe it has been 4 years of Advent Calendars! I remember the first one like it was last year. What a great tradition it is.

  11. Good afternoon everyone, my collection of cd’s was from some artists, but the first cd I bought was 20 great hits by the Beatles then followed by one by Van Halen, the double album Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd, 2 cd’s by Scorpions, 2 by bon Jovi, CD’s of hits from El Tri (local band), Los Bukis and others I don’t remember. One day the directors of the company I work for sent me, according to them, for 2 months to supervise a work in Zacatecas (I am originally from there), office is in Monterrey Nuevo León, once the work was finished the decision was made to leave me in Monterrey so I gave away some things and sold others including my house. Now I am here in Tijuana again and I am starting my collection of CDs and they are those of Mona and Lisa.

    Congratulations to today’s winners.

Thanks to Mona and Lisa for the videos they publish daily.

  12. Hello everyone!

My largest collection of LP’s and CD’s is definitely the Moody Blues. I had all of their original themed albums from the 60’s and 70’s. When I started to convert my collection to CD’s in the 80’s, I thought I could get away with just some greatest hits compilation CD’s but I quickly realized I was missing too many of their lesser known songs. I ended up replacing all of my Moody Blues LP’s with CD’s. I also saw them in concert four times, more than anyone else for me.

As a strange counterpoint to the Moody Blues, my second most numerous music collection would be Led Zeppelin.

After that it’s (drum roll) the MonaLisa Twins, with all ten CD’s!  Since I will be adding any new MLT CD’s to the collection they definitely have every possibility of moving up the list.

    1. Perhaps you can tell me which Moody Blues song/album has the following spoken lines: “I think. I think I am. Therefore I am. I think.”

    2. I’m glad to see other Moody Blues fans here in the MLT club. On the Threshold of a Dream was the first Moody Blues album I owned, and still probably my favorite.

  13. Hi Mona and Lisa I have cds of Suzi Quatro, Wynonna Judd, Beach Boys,to name a few I love all kinds of music and if I’m lucky I will have all 10 of your cds also. Thank you girls for all the great thing’s you do for all of us. I enjoy your music everyday.

  14. Hello Ladies!
How cool to see a surprise trail of Lights! Take your GPS so you can find your way back ???? ????????????
Did you all have a nice visit with Krampus? ???????? he’s sad, because he hasn’t seen you all in a while???????????????????????? hope he brought you many pieces of coal. Hahahaha ???? ???? ???? ???? ????
So excited for the new video tomorrow. It
Must be your Annual Christmas Song! Did Santa Baby bring a ’54 bass, baby Blue yet?❤❤❤❤❤
My largest collection of Cds by any one artist is by the Fabulously Talented MonaLisa Twins. I have all 10 Cds.
Each one is spectacular in its own way, there are many unique and special treats in store for you in each Album. If you love the sixties, then you will absolutely Love the MonaLisa Twins!
Thanks Ladies and Enjoy your very special light show

This is a better pic of Rudolph

  15. Hi from South Australia. My music catalogue comprises an eclectic mix from the 60’s through to the current. Predominantly the Beatles and British beat groups of the 60’s, though with 80’s, including Duran Duran, A-ha, George Michael, David Bowie and the like. Of course, the Bee Gees are one of my top groups. Closing off, i would add that i have all the releases of MLT both CD and Video! Spotify has also opened up a whole new suite of music which provides a great play list.

  16. I have every U2 CD. In 2005, my friend and I travelled all over the country and saw 17 shows. A few years later I flew to England solo and saw them in Cardiff, Wales.
As a funny side note, this message was posted on our employee fridge (in Utah).

On the 5th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me a clean refrigerator. Take your stuff out of the fridge or the Krampus will get you.

    1. Hi Diana. I only have one U2 album, Joshua Tree, but man I love that album, and every song on it. Back in the day when I use to travel all up the west coast of the USA from Vancouver down to many destinations in California, I had the Joshua Tree cassette that I played exclusively on one trip, and every song engrained in my head wonderfully. I have the CD now, and it’s one of my favourite albums. Red Hill Mining Town, In God’s Country, One Tree Hill…I could listen to them all day.
      https://youtu.be/lw-l6-_O9iw

      1. Red Hill Mining Town is awesome! I’m so glad you like them too!! Thanks for the comment. My dream is that someday MLT will play live and I can meet fellow fans like you. You better believe if they did a tour, I would travel to see as many shows as possible.

  17. For me the band I listened to most growing up was Dire Straits and I have all their CDs, as well as a number of Mark Knopfler albums as well. Mark is definitely one of my favourite guitarists. As a new MLT club member can I say how I love your enthusiasm for music, and the professional quality of everything you produce. I hope you make it back down under to Australia some time.

  18. Well this is like a trick question that has no right answer…LOL….I have every Beatle album that I know of and some of the solo albums of each…but because The Beatles last album was in 1970 they couldn’t keep pace with The Bee Gees who also started putting out albums while teenagers in Australia in early 60s and continuing into the 70s..80s..90s…and into 2002…when Maurice Gibb died in 2003….I have every Bee Gee album that I know of and all their individual solo albums…while The Beatles lasted as a band for approximately 14 years going back to the beginning days of the Quarrymen…the Bee Gees as a group had albums in 5 decades far out numbering the Beatles…..but The Beatles without a doubt are the greatest band ever and they are responsible for so many of the revolutionary changes in the music business.

  19. I have an eclectic music collection including Beatles/Stones, Zepplin and 70’s,80’s rock. Country music, Mexcian and afro cuban, and classical. And lately MLT is on my playlist.

  20. I love music, but I’ve never had many LPs….but the few LPs I’ve had are Classics. The Beatles, Red and Blue Album, Help, Revolver, Rubber Soul, Sgt Pepper’s, Let Be and Abbey Road, I also have some from other bands. Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, CCR, Stones, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Iron Maiden, JSBach, Beethoven, and of course I have all the MonaLisa Twins CDs and the Orange vinyl.

  21. I have quite a few cd’s of Shania Twain, Lace. Don Messer and a bunch of other odd ones but I have the most now of Mona & Lisa.

  22. I have a pretty large Jazz CD collection, and probably the artist I have the most recordings by is jazz pianist Bill Evans. Even though he died in 1980, they are still releasing newly discovered live recordings by him every year or so.

  23. Hi Lisa, hi Mona,
die meisten LPs und CDs habe ich von: The Beatles.
16 LPs und und 9 CDs … und da sind die drei Beatles-CDs von Euch noch nicht mitgezählt.
    Herzliche Grüße
    Michael

  24. I have around 60 Beatles LPs – the American and UK versions, bootlegs, picture discs –
and probably around that many Beatle CDs counting all the deluxe versions. But Mona Lisa Twins are the Artists I have the second most…

  25. I think I have mostly ABBA, Chris De Burgh and Queen CD’s. My taste in music has changed over the years and I appreciated great musicians and song writers past and present such as the MLT originals and covers

  26. Well – I actually had a big collection of LP’s 7 years ago. I had all Beatles LPs and the special thing about them was that I had pressed them myself in 1974 when I worked at EMI Denmark that X-mas – bought a whole collection of the LPs. Most LPs I had was with Status Quo. I sold all my LPs (ca. 3000) 7 years ago and before that I had made a digital copy of Beatles, Stones, Kinks and Status Quo and I have few LPS left and a collection of CDs. Among them a whole collection of some nice women called MonaLisa Twins and Little Mix.

  27. Most of my physical CDs and all of my LPs and tapes have gone by the wayside, leaving behind only their digital copies on my computer. And I didn’t know who I had the most albums from until I started looking at it and discovered the record holder, with 8 albums is… yeah, you guessed it, the MonaLisa Twins. But, sorry, that maybe shouldn’t count, because some of those were ones I acquired via the MLT Club rather than buying them separately… I think I only have two or three I bought, in physical form. So really maybe the record should go to the Cape Breton fiddler Natalie MacMaster, with 5 albums. After that it’s a tie between Pink Floyd and Wisconsin singer-songwriters Peter and Lou Berryman. Yes, it’s a rather eclectic bunch of music I listen to, why do you ask?

  28. As expected, my collection is also heavily Beatles, with Paul McCartney leading overall with 37. If you add all up all of the Beatles as a group and solo, I have 101. I was very happy to see your CDs (and 1 vinyl) made it into the top 10 though!

  29. I have the most records/CDs from a band that my good friend in high school started in 1974 in the Washington, DC area – the Nighthawks. They did quite well but never hit the big time. They travelled Europe a few times and also Japan. My buddy would always make sure that I had a copy of their latest record or CD when it came out. After that it looks like it is Led Zeppelin. I also opted to buy greatest hits CDs from many, many groups as my taste is widespread. I guess that is about it. Merry Christmas everyone!!

  30. Currently I have 14 Beatles CDs/LPs, 10 Taylor Swift CDs/LPs and 10 MonaLisa Twin CDs. If, by some chance, my name is drawn, please draw again. I have one MLT album that is not autographed since I bought it before I joined the club. My plan is to someday get it autographed in person.

  31. Mona, that top you wore in the video took my breath away! So perfect for you! Also, you and I have the exact same tastes in tea. Sorry Lisa, but Earl Grey is one of my favorites 😀

I have many artist’s full catalogs (including MTL) but they don’t make the list because some are larger than others. My current #1 is Yes, with 29 albums between CDs and vinyl, but Bob Dylan and the Grateful dead are close seconds (26 each) and I’m always adding records so it sometimes changes between those three. But since they have such extensive catalogs, no one else will ever come close.

  32. If composers count as “Artists”, then both on physical disc (CD/LP) and computer digital format, J.S.Bach, Mozart and Beethoven by far (21 Goldberg Variations anyone?:)). For the modern period, then Pink Floyd, The Who, The Beetles, Fairport Convention, Richard Thompson and Christy Moore would come tops.

    1. Hi Alan. Yeah the Goldberg Variations are incredible. I also love Bach’s Well Tempered Clavier books 1 and 2, Beethoven’s 32 Piano Sonatas, Mozart’s Piano Concertos….I think if Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven were here in modern times, they would be Pink Floyd, The Who, and The Beatles.

  33. Both Judy and I have always liked a variety of music, and our music collection mirrors that. In addition to rock, we have classical, country, folk, Americana, Spanish language, etc. Now we don’t buy full albums – the Twins are the exception.

A tally of our albums showed 16 albums by Emmylou Harris, many of them old vinyl records.

  34. I hve all the Beatles Albums. Also love the singer/songwtiter Niel Sedaka and have most of his. I was more of a singles buyer growing up. My favorite album thought at the moment it your Live At The Carven. Its on all the time in the car and is just brilliant. Best Wishes Jeff

    1. Jeff, I think you’re the first club member to admit to liking Sedaka. I’m a huge fan of the toe-tapping songs he wrote with Howie Greenfield: Breaking Up Is Hard to Do, Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen, the original Stairway to Heaven, etc.

      1. Absolutley David. I think he is maybe the must underated songwriter. I love lots of stuff too rock Motown. If its good its good.

  35. My listening tastes have always been eclectic so I’ve always owned a little bit of this that. I was a student of classical music in my university days and had recordings of music from Gregorian chant to Arnold Schoenberg, and everything in between. I’ve owned a fair number of opera recordings too, as well as folk, country, and rock, Elvis, the Beatles, Peter and Gordon, the Everly brothers, the Kingston Trio, etc.. I just love music in its infinite variety of expressions! Currently, I own fewer CDs but I can state with all honesty that by far the most listened to music in my home is by the MonaLisa Twins – daily, in fact!

  36. Congrats to the winners. We have all the MonaLisa Twins, Beatles CD’s, the Eagles, etc. Miscellaneous groups throughout the years. We love all kinds of Music but Rock is the main catalog. My son gave me a 4 terabyte small WD hard drive full of Rock, Soul, R & B,
Country with all the Billboard Music from the 60’s forward. Everything is on it including all the Classics including Beethoven and Bach!!! We do love Music!!!!! Stay Groovy!!!!!!

    1. Great to see the Sant Andreu Jazz Band there – such an inspiring set of youngsters – Joan Chamorro deserves sainthood!

  37. I have a lot of artist with just a couple, MLT is my second most represented artist, and Stevie Ray Vaughn is my top artist! Thank you again for the Advent Calendar and the chance to see you daily… so special.

  38. The Beatles cuz there’s both the British albums and American versions, plus those cool special anniversary editions they keep putting out. Second most would be Leonard Cohen. Hopefully I’ll hang around long enough so my answer will be MonaLisa Twins!

  39. I am not sure. I think it is either Whiteheart, or Lost and Found(speedwood.com)(there were several Lost and Found groups). Otherwise I have a fairly eclectic collection.

  40. I haven’t counted lately, so this was interesting. But probably not surprising for someone of my generation. Counting all the regular albums, soundtracks, compilations and bootlegs…for me it was:

    1. The Beatles
    2. Elvis Presley (a very close 2nd)
    3. Bob Dylan
    4. The Rolling Stones
    5. The Beach Boys
  41. I own every Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Album, I’ve got 90% of the Beatles collection, as well as Many Many Elvis. Also own every album by Garth Brooks, and hope to soon have all of yours!

  42. That’s quite an easy one to answer for me, but depends on the rules! I’ve been into Queen since the 70’s,and bought every album release on vinyl – because that’s all there was back then, and including ep’s and bootlegs there’s around 50 if not more of them. I recorded them onto 8 track and later cassette tapes for daily use. But, on top of that, as cd’s of the albums became available I had to buy those too, so that’s over 100.
One day I hope to have as many MLT albums, obviously on every format, so get cracking ladies!

    1. Oops, I forgot that I bought the special edition box sets too, which adds another 15. But I also have a 2tb NAS hdd full of some 300000 pieces of music, everything from classical to rock, and some of my favourites, musicals. But my ipod in the car, is full of what else, but MLT!

  43. I hope you all have a wonderful time tonight at the Christmas lights trail. It sounds similar to the Christmas lights around the lake near my place. It’s become a real local city tradition the last few years. There is a wooded area around the lake where the have the forest lit up with lights, really beautiful. ???? ✨ ????

The teas are going down hill, oh no! ????

I have quite the growing collection of classical music CDs, and Beethoven and Mozart would by far encompass in my collection the artists with the most albums I have. At least a few dozen albums for each. If we are talking modern artists, well then I think it would be MLT’s 10 albums. All the Austria/German composers! The Beach Boys might come in close, but I don’t think I had as many albums of theirs.

Here are some pictures of my CDs and the Christmas lights around my lake.

  44. I do love a lazy Sunday (afternoon ahhhh????) For me it is Phil Collins and has been since the 80’s .I started with the Genesis albums he sang on and then onto all his solo albums. Have seen him live many times both solo and with Geneais including Wembley Stadium, Royal Albert Hall, Knebworth, Twickenham and even Montreal. Love his voice and the heart he puts into all his work. Heartbreaking to see a once vibrant front man reduced to how he is now ???? (but he can still carry a tune ????)❤️

  45. This is simple. LPs the Beatles. CD’s the Beatles by far with multiple versions of the same album. Followed by, what a shock, MonaLisa Twins. Most of the music from my favorite musicians is purchased as downloads now. I purchase MLT CDs because I enjoy the entire creative work of Mona and Lisa which includes the CD cover art. And MLT Club signed copies is definitely a nice added touch.

  46. My musical taste varies a lot, so I usually only have one or a few albums of an artist or band, but my fairly modest collection does contain all 15 Alan Parsons albums.

  47. I have a very wide range of musical taste and a substantial CD collection, but definitely the winner by numbers of albums is, Madness.

  48. I went through all the “Changes” with Johnny Rivers. I think I own all of his LPs. In later years I had the chance to have front table seats at his Billy Bob’s Texas concert and even talked him into flipping a pick to me. I had that pick glued to the front of my guitar for years.

  49. Congratulations to the lucky winners.

Naturally the Beatles are the band for which I have the most albums, eps and singles. Second (and I’m being totally honest here) it is the MonaLisa Twins. Most of my music collection is of albums that are collections by various bands and years because I buy them as they have the tracks that I like for the artists.

I do have two or three albums by Showaddywaddy and the Stray Cats but, in general, I find a lot of album tracks disappointing compared to the quality of the Beatles and indeed you. Plus I had limited income so was very picky about what I bought. I didn’t buy much in the 80s nor since then as a lot of the music is not to my taste or even dull. (Edited as I have read some of the comments made by others and I realise that another reason for the lack of albums I have is that both my brothers bought stuff so we pooled it, although our tastes did differ as well.)

Your english pronunciation of names is becoming very good and the way you say a lot of things is becoming very english. Do you think in english or german? Lisa, one day you’ll do that thumb thing and find that it is alight!

Finally a story about my cat when I was young. We decided to put some presents on the tree for him one year which included a can of cat food (that is how it was sold in the 70s in the UK). The following morning we went into the lounge, where the tree was and he slept each night, to find it lying flat on the floor and the cat food present with the wrapping paper ripped off. He had smelt it, even in the can, and tried to get it off the tree, managed to but also demolished everything! As my brothers slept in the room above the lounge he must have done it quietly (unusual for him!).

Before this we had often put an option of 3 different flavours on the floor for him to chose the one for his meal, he would always rub round one which was what we fed him. The tree incident made us realise that he didn’t just select a random can but could actually smell the contents and made his choice. It differed each evening so he enjoyed virtually everything that we offered him.

  50. For me it’s actually the Monkees.

My brother, living in the room next to mine in my parents’ house, discovered the Beatles in 1985 and bought all their albums, so I was able to hear all their music for free (through the wall most of the time, but it was still great).

Then the following year MTV started airing the Monkees TV show, and they became huge again in the U.S., with all their albums back in stock in the record stores. I loved the diversity of songwriters I was hearing, so I bought all their original albums, plus several greatest hits compilations. Then a few years later Rhino Records put out their Missing Links series featuring lots of previously unreleased recordings, and I snatched those up too.

So yeah, I kind of became a Monkees completist, although I’ll readily admit that the Beatles are by far my favorite group. I just didn’t have to invest a lot of money in them.

  51. I have to admit that I have all the US releases of The Beatles albums on vinyl and I also have a large collection of Jethro Tull also on vinyl.

  52. Hi Mona and Lisa! Over the years I have accumulated multiple copies of all the Genesis albums (vinyl, CD, DVD, downloads), as growing up I was really in to prog rock. So, based on numbers, Genesis are who I have the most of. I do also have multiple copies of the complete Beatles catalog. Of course, nowadays the MonaLisa Twins are my favorite artist, so hopefully soon they will take over the most recordings in my collection!

  53. I was convinced it would be the Beatles but my top 3 was Mike Oldfield (30), Beatles (27) and Fleetwood Mac (24). I did ignore extra discs in box sets though and of course solo members!!

  54. The Beatles, both as a group and solo and including box sets & special editions, have the most shelf space in my collection. The most albums I have by any one group would be country-rock pioneers Poco, but they went through so many personnel changes over the years that there were never any more than five or six by one lineup. Oh, and no spoilers, but if you haven’t seen the Get Back documentary yet, you’re in for a treat, it’s amazing.

  55. That would be Queen – loved them ever since their Seven Seas of Rhye single in 1974. Lucky to have seen them in 1986 at Knebworth (Freddie’s last concert with them).

  56. Previously it was the Beatles, but I gave all of that to my daughter for her birthday as she wants my old vinyl so I started her off with that. So now the artists with the largest representation of cd’s or albums in my collection is (drumroll……………………………………………..) The MonaLisa Twins! Congratulations! I didn’t realize that until you asked. 2nd place goes to The Beach Boys. Pet Sounds is my all time favorite album, it is a masterpiece. Great question!
I am enjoying my first Advent Calendar very much. I also go back and look at previous years for the appropriate day. The time you put into this is very generous, and literally the first thing I do after I get up in the mornings is to sign in. Thank you!
May Krampus pass by your door tonight and not visit you!

  57. Beatles, obviously, but also quite a few solo Beatles’ albums from all 4 lads. I also have everything you’ve released on CD, Vinyl and the WWT DVD, but I’m sure several fellow clubbers can also make that claim! VERY groovy and generous giveaway, ladies! I hope the postal fees for December don’t hit you too hard!

  58. My top collection goes too….. Asleep At The Wheel at 12, George Straight was a close second at 11. But I was very surprised by how many had 9 and 8.

  59. Hi Mona!,Hi Lisa!

The Beatles of course!! Together and solo recordings. And suprise, suprise! By a margin of 1,The MonaLisa Twins come in second.I lost a huge amount of my album collection in a hurricane/flood several years ago.But have been slowly rebuilding it.Thankfully I have a amazing family and group of friends who help in the effort. While I don;t think I’ll ever reach the 500 plus I once had.but I sure as heck am gonna try.

  60. Mostly I have cds by the Beatles (big surprise)
I have really cut down on my collection of “real” cds, but I still have some by Jan & Dean, and by the Beach boys.

  61. This was a tough one as I have so many Cd’s… It was a toss up, so I had to count each. The artist I have the most Cd’s of is Josh Groban followed by the UB40, Styx, Queen, and the Beatles.

  62. I don’t know how your cut off works, I’m a OTR Driver and my times are sporadic. It’s hard to say about whose the most represented. I was a Classical musician and played a lot of Big Band in the Army. I have always listened to everything. I could be playing Brass Quintet ( Gabrielle is my favorite style) to Rock( Queen) to Harder Rock (Black Sabbath) to modern country (Garth Brooks) etc. I saw the Beatles for the first time on Ed Sullivan show at age 6. I totally remember that. My older sister bought the Beatles. I do have the Red, Blue, and White vinyl compulation Beatles albums. Since I have decided to support 2 totally independent bands , Mons Lisa was the first I found, I play a lot of Mona Lisa Twins and Liliac. You both are 2 sides of the same coin with similar backgrounds. You are 60s Rock and they are 80s Rock and Metal. I drive my wife crazy as I did my mother in my youth. This Christmas, however, I’m adding your Christmas album, which I still need to buy soon, to my mix. We listen to a wide variety of traditional, Rock, jazz, fusion like Manheim Steamroller etc.
Even if I’m too late everyday, peace to all, stay safe. God Speed. Stay Groovy! ❤????

  63. Hope you are having a lovely ‘lazy Sunday afternoon’ Ladies. I have always loved Status Quo and their version of 12 bar boogie. Still going strong today since the 1960s! I have every album (CD) they have ever brought out, plus some extra rare ones. Covering over 60 odd years, this has become a MASSIVE collection. My favourite is Blue For You brought out in 1976.

    1. I’m sure that I had some Quo but it seems to have disappeared, possibly ‘half inched’ during a house move. (For those puzzled by ‘half inched’ it is cockney rhyming slang for pinched which is itself UK slang for stolen.)

      1. Only liked the earlier Quo Phil, late 60’s until the mid 70’s to be fair. Later stuff, too poppy for me. Love that term, ‘half inched’…..use to say it a lot LOL.

      2. I agree. Not just Quo. A lot of band’s later stuff drops off in quality and imagination. The sign of of true brilliance is to continue to produce wow moments with new material, not many manage that, the twins are giving it a good go and succeeding so far.

  64. Hi Mona and Lisa! So good to see you today. Your question is interesting, and I will explain as best I can. I am 70. I was always into music from my teen years on, and I had over 200 LPs back in the day. At one point in my life I gave away all my albums. I do not remember who I had the most of back then. My current cd collection is small, as it is so easy to go to YouTube and be able to see as well as hear music. Long story made shorter, the most cd’s I have now is my own music, (11 cd’s) and yours (5). So, you win! Truly, I listen mostly to your music via cds and YouTube videos, and are my favorites. Growing up in the 60s our taste in music is probably very similar, at least in the rock and pop artists.

    1. With YouTube you don’t really need your old cds etc do you anymore. Live versions of many tracks are readily available and, in general, I always prefer live recordings.

  65. Good morning,
I lost count of how many Pink Floyd CD’s we have, but they take up the most space. I hope The MonaLisa Twins take over that spot as time goes by.
    Keeping it cheesy

    JP☕️

  66. What a fun topic for today. By far for me, my Jethro Tull Collection tops everything at 35 CDs not including the new remaster 5.1 DVDs and any LPs I didn’t get rid of. Rennaissance came in at 16. Rush at 14 and The Mona Lisa Twins tied with Dan Fogelberg and Blackmore’s Night at 10 CDs. My Beatles collection is only at 7.

  67. Being a worship singer/musician for 20 years I can say without counting that Paul Baloche (a prolific Christian song writer/singer/musician) would win the CD count.

  68. Hi, It’s the Beatles, all the originals plus various compilation albums, followed closely by the The Beach Boys and Elvis.

  69. CDs/LPs Mike Oldfield some being CD releases of original albums that I have

And then of course The Beatles with original LPs plus CD releases.

However if you include vinyl EPs and Singles then it would be the Beatles.

  70. This is a no-brainer (my favorite kind). Obviously my collection is fullest of The Beatles. Second would be the Mona Lisa Twins (a little brown nosing never hurts…LOL) Hope you enjoy your trail.

  71. Of course MLT ! Well, that was a little bit cheated 🙂 The Beatles lead my album list. 23 CD’s to be exact (incl. various collector’s editions that have been reissued in recent years). Not counting the 12 LP’s I once owned.

  72. The Beatles! What else?!
Mona and Lisa also characterized by her love for the oldies – especially The Beatles. They have recognized the great gift that the FAB FOUR has given us: There is no larger band that has shown so much empathy. This is not only what Elvis Costello and others say – real music greats.
