  1. Maybe snack less, and be less critical of other people. Aldous Huxley, in a letter to his brother, said “that if we didn’t pretty quickly start thinking in ecological terms rather than in terms of power politics we should very soon be in a bad way.” So, I resolve to worry less about the world’s troubles.

  2. I agree with Mona, but I would like to take a vacation next year totally disconnecting from work (I hope to do so).

I loved today’s video as well as those of the previous days, but today I laughed a lot.

  3. 2022 I will be making a huge effort to spend more time with my extended family. All of my siblings have retired from work with the exception of me and one other brother, so I will be making visiting them more in the new year and for the years we have remaining. I’ve learned since the pandemic and other health issues that just creep up on us due to aging that time is not a luxury to be taken for granted. So I’m thinking it’s time to get the band back together as best as we can and enjoy the future while better remembering the past. It always seems to be easier for us as a family to reminisce when more of us are there to fill in some of the missing pieces when telling family stories. Also I’m going to get all the old family photos organized and digitized to make it easier to reference our family history. That shouldn’t be too hard…….lol

  4. I prefer a bucket list, because it contains resolutions too, but is not connected to a certain date. Just take your chance when you get it, like the time I got the opportunity to pet a tiger. It had been on my list for years. No New Year’s resolution can beat that IMHO 🙂

  5. I seem to stack up too many New Year’s resolutions so I’ll offer just one here: I’m an avid bicyclist who is not going to let other priorities stop me in 2022. My goal between road, gravel and mountain biking is to ride 3,000 miles (4,828 km). If this weren’t challenging enough, my home is at an elevation of 7,820 feet (2,384 meters), so practically all of my riding is up and down hills and mountains. Oh yes, did I mention riding when there’s cold and snow?

  6. I don’t usually put myself under pressure with New Year’s resolutions, but I am hoping to start some home repairs next year. The plans include putting new plaster on the walls, and I would call these, ‘New Year’s aspirations’. ????

  7. Last year I completely changed the way I ate and started exercising routinely. I went from 195 lbs to 165 lbs in six months. My resolution this year is to maintain my health and to finally get serious about re-learning to play my new Gretsch.

    1. You are a hero and an inspiration for anyone struggling to take off pounds. Way to go! The commitment you’ve shown to exercise and weight loss will serve you well as you as relearn to play guitar. Best wishes for a joyous Christmas. By the way, I bet your Gretsch is an awesome guitar.

      1. Thanks so much for the kind words Don. I hope you’re right about getting better with the Gretsch! A very merry Christmas to you and a happy New Year.

  8. I gave up on New Year’s resolution years ago, but just for you I will make one this year. I resolve to learn how to finger pick on my ukulele.

    1. Congrats, just one more year to go! May it be a safe and good one. The light at the end of my tunnel is another 6 to go, unless I win the lottery ????

  9. Hello Ladies,
I guess the best New Years Resolution i could come up with is to stop procrastinating so dang much. Intentions are really good. Just need to follow through better. Quit finding something else to do instead.
So very kind of you all to give another hand written lyrics to the Lady that missed Songbird title by one letter. Perfect gift for her. Thank you Team MLT for doing that.
    Have a great week.
    Rick
PS i posted yesterday in Twitter, some Christmas Decorations With some of your Mug Merch. M&Ms with Tea. What a great combination!

  10. My new years resolution would be to travel and practice and play music a lot more . I would need to be more chill and helpful to everyone

  11. My first resolution is to be more fully aware of others around me, if they may need a kind word or prayer or a helping hand somehow. My second resolution is to not forget about the first resolution a few months down the line which we sometimes do with resolutions.

  12. I’d like to start traveling again. I have a lot of family and friends in Germany and Ireland, and it’s been too long. I’d also like to travel to the UK to research family on my mother’s side. I discovered that my 11th great grandfather was a member of Parliament from Norwich and there is a statue of him in a local church. I’d like to see if there are any living relatives still there.

  13. With all the hell breaking lose in the world, just stay Positive, patient and try being a better person each day!! Continue teaching my grandsons how to play guitar which at 10 and 11 is an incredible task, especially with all the games they would rather be playing, but they are great kids!!! Peace to everyone!!!!!!!!!

  14. Not a New Year’s Resolution, but as always be the best person I can be and make the best of what life throws at me. And like John Kelly, I will miss these daily video’s and be sad when they are over.

  15. Time is flying! I’m really going to miss these videos after Christmas. I’m always extra busy at this time of year, but I always find time to come by and watch these lovely cheerful interactions.
    ???? ????
My ongoing resolution is to be present and enjoy the moments as they come along. As for new year’s resolution, I’ve never had to watch my weight, but now that I’ve joined Club 54, I might have to keep an eye on the scale ????

Since we’ve had such crazy couple of years, my resolution for the new year would be to keep all senses wide open and be ready for whatever comes!

Thank you for these lovely moments!

  16. I’m going to try to eat healthier, play more, work less, and, providing it can be done safely, spend more time with family & friends. It’s sad, but I’ve gotten used to only seeing the same 2 or 3 people when I have other kids (who are out of the house) I need to see, siblings, my Dad, friends, etc…

  17. I would like to try something new that is outside my comfort zone. I did it this year and it was such a good experience for me. I went to adrenaline quarry down in Cornwall UK and the activities were adrenaline fueled which is not my cup of tea but I ended up having the most amazing day with friends. I had never laughed so hard before. I would love to push myself again and have an amazing experience.

  18. My New Year’s resolution will be to get back to learning guitar. I started last year and made some progress but other things came up and took me away from it. So my resolution will be to get back to it…

  19. I bought an electric guitar back in September, learnt two chords via an online tutor – since then, nothing, Too many distractions. So my New Year’s resolution is to buckle down and get on with it. At my advanced age ( 68 ) I don’t expect to achieve any great technical heights but at least I can say I tried.

  20. I have really enjoyed the daily videos. It gives me something to look forward to and will be greatly missed when they are over. That being said, my New Year’s resolution will be to eat better and take better care of myself so that I might be around for next years advent calendar.

  21. I want to travel! 2 years without going abroad is not good for my soul. 217 days until we fly to Disneyworld, please stay away covid ????

  22. Wow I am overwhelmed and soooo thrilled to hear my name being called out and that I am to receive handwritten lyrics for your new original song Songbird. What a lovely thought and something I will treasure.Thank you very much Mona and Lisa.
Back to the question I think for me my New Years resolutions would be to keep pushing myself with fitness and health, especially cycling, Mountain biking and hiking. I had planned to climb the 3 highest peaks in Wales having done the 3 highest peaks in England and Yorkshire but it all depends on the present situation.I would also like to spend as much time with my family as possible and make them happy.

  23. The only time I ever made New Resolutions was as an exercise one year in elementary school. I have read since that time that psychologists say they are doomed to fail. The time to change something is when you decide to do it.

  24. I resolve to lose the twenty pounds I lost last year, and keep it off this year. I also resolve to continue with my guitar lessons. Peace be.

  25. I have learned and heard New Year’s resolutions are pointless. After a few days or weeks one lets them fade away. You don’t need a resolution to get started or change.

    William Hauslein

  26. Week 4. I’ll go ahead and also resolve on New Year’s Day to adjust from a 12″ inner diameter Advent wreath to a 15″ before Thanksgiving next year in order to accommodate a 288 continuous burn time white center candle. This is to extend the display life of the Advent wreath from its current limit through Christmastide (December 25 through January 5).

I don’t estimate that the 3″x9″ bees wax center candle will continuous burn for 288 hours unless there’s a miracle. A 6″x12″ will likely meet the 288 hours (12 days) target.

For next year’s resolution, I’m adding 12 more candlelight days to the Advent wreath display.

  27. I’ve been incredibly fortunate in the fact that my work has stayed very busy. So for next years resolution, it would be to take 2 one week vacations and find a way to relax a little more each day.

  28. If I was a person that made New Year’s resolutions, I would continue to re-motivate myself into getting back into playing shape and continue writing and recording my own songs. In 2012 I got writer’s block and have only written one song since then. Re-motivation at 70 includes watching and listening to you, Mona and Lisa, and trying to fall back in love with my own music which only ever pleased me. And a few other people.

  29. I’ve never had New Year’s resolutions, things happen and I’ll deal with them, but if possible I’ll go on a trip that was scheduled for the end of 2020, canceled by the pandemic.. it’s a trip to Liverpool, the land of the Beatles an old dream of mine, and now also the city of Mona and Lisa, so my desire to know this part of the planet increased., and maybe I’m lucky enough to meet Mona and Lisa, although I confess… I don’t know what it would be like to be around Mona and Lisa and not see them???? … It would be very frustrating,. I would wander around the region trying in hopes of finding them.. I think I should wait when they announce a tour, or a show., then the trip would be perfect. Get groovy everyone.

  30. Write songs again! I’ve been writing when I was in my teens and adult life came around eating all my energy and creativity . Now I’m getting a new balance I’d love to start over again

  31. I resolved several years ago not to make any more resolutions, since I never kept them anyway, and now I don’t need to stress over them! Improvement is a daily process, not something to be done once a year.

  32. Among my resolutions, I always include getting more exercise, and it’s always the one I know I’m going to break. Maybe I’ll stick to it in 2022? I’m going to add working on improving my guitar skills beyond simple chord strumming. I just got a new Martin acoustic, so hopefully that will inspire me.

  33. If I made a resolution for 2022, it would have to be to get out and find some new rock specimens. It has been way too long.

  34. The only resolution I would make is don’t work so hard. I’m 63 and work a demanding job. And try not to get so upset about all the idiots on the road. Lol

  35. New Year’s Resolution: I resolve to stay a member of the MLT Club because Jesus is the Reason for the season.

  36. I have have written a jukebox musical set in the 60s and would love to see a workshop around that.
I would LOVE to see Mona & Lisa play like.

  37. I have only one New year´s resolution. I promise not to promise anything.for a new year. That´s an easy one to keep. I hope to live so that others won´t get hurt. That´s the best goal for everyone of us.

  38. I am going to try & drink more, eat more & and not be as organized. Maybe reverse psychology will be a better approach this year since most of my New Years resolutions never work !!!

  39. I don’t think I ever had any. There are things I’d like to change, of course, but this won’t work any better at the beginning of a new year.

  40. As always, my first priority is to roam the Internet. My second is to do daily Lesson #1 of the anti-procrastination course that I’m 47 days behind on.

  41. Resolutions are hard because no matter how earnestly they are made, life manages to throw many obstacles in the way of achieving them. I have resolved many times to take better care of myself, but the reality of life dictates that my time is mostly consumed by caring for others – my 85-year-old parents, my developmental disabled brother and his similarly disabled wife, and my daughter who has autism, OCD, and ADHD. I love them all dearly but find that my own needs get forgotten about. I’ll resolve to try again this year!

    1. I know how hard is can be to justify taking time out for yourself. Think of it in this way. If you spend a set bit of time each week being you, doing what you want then you are going to be in a better state of mind etc to deal with your responsibilities to those who depend on you. Ultimately a win win situation. It may take a bit of organisation to get people to be available to cover you for that hour or two (or whatever) but it will help EVERYONE.

  42. I think I will repeat a message I by fault placed in 2020 thread with my best wishes

A year is coming to an end for many who fared,
also for those who have been/are a little scared,
afraid of what all the unknown brings,
when we hang the tree with sweet memories, decorations, things.
How will it go for all of us in the unknown new year,
and will it be secure to be together again to have a beer.

We must never lose hope against the bad,
when you are sitting alone in the dark and sad.
Pick up the phone and call your friends and dear,
a good way to keep distance even though we rather be near.
Use digital media and write a story in a positive tone,
about yourself, the situation to show you are alive in your dome.

There’s probably a sweet, exciting memory you can share,
even if you can not remember it all or do not dare.
Grab the pen old friend and let us hear your thought.
There might probably be something for what you fought.
May you all have a very merry yuletide
in each of your cozy little shelter hide.

    the old Scandinavian nisse

  43. Congrats to the winners today!

I’ve never been successful accomplishing a new years resolution, and so perhaps my new years resolution will be to just do that, stick to it. So what comes to mind at the moment would be to pick up the pace on my piano and get past the scales exercises that are so boring, but learn some songs. Paul McCartney in a clip from the “Get Back” movie gave some helpful advice. Just get 6 chords under my belt and build up on that. I’ve never been a big reader and I want to read some great books this year. There is such a big world of wonderful fiction out there. And lastly get more fit and healthy. Your marathon and fitness spirit has been a great inspiration for me, and so more walking, running, and cycling.

  44. I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions, at least not for several years now. I suppose I could always try to eat a little healthier and exercise more often, but nothing too drastic. Mona, I loved the “Tea Gods” bit! Glad they provided a more palatable choice today. You’ve been experiencing a rough patch lately!

    1. I’ve been trying to think up a gag about Lisa being the Teas Maid but I suspect that it wouldn’t work as teasmades were very much a british thing. They could be programmed to automatically make a cup of tea at a set time so that one would be ready for you when you woke up in the morning.

  45. Never really make them but would love to try and stop eating so much chocolate but so hard especially after Christmas

  46. Before I get to the question I need to make a couple of quick comments;
Mona you look especially darling today. Your outfit highlights your slim figure perfectly????.
Lisa and the Heide braids. Lisa and the Heide braids. As you can see , the Heide braids are one of Lisa’s potent superpowers that reduce grown men to love struck zombies ????????. They get me EVERY time.
    What was today’s question?
My resolutions , oh yeah or ja (one of Mona’s superpowers when she says it).
I bought a new bicycle and I want to ride it every day unless it is snowing. And I want to get back into exploring my genealogy. Finally, I want to get out my telescope more often for some astronomy sessions.
    Dear Twins, what are yours?

  47. I would classify a New Year’s resolution as a form of “goal setting.” My generation was not taught goal setting in school. I have never been able to set goals. I have never been able to contemplate a New Year’s resolution that seemed realistic.

  48. Frohe Weihnachten an alle Singvögel. Gut gemacht Susie, ich hatte die richtigen Worte, aber nicht unbedingt in der richtigen Reihenfolge!

A while ago I decided that my only superstition was not to be superstitious and in a similar vein my only New Year’s resolution is not to make any resolutions!!

One of my mother’s sayings was ‘that if really want to do something you will always find time to do it’ and this is the basis of my sentiment (you can tell that it was drummed into me!). If you have to resolve to do something then you don’t really want to do it, otherwise, you would just go ahead and do it. Also waiting to the new year to start something again shows that you don’t really want to do it because if you do why don’t you start immediately.

One of the things that my mother stated that she admired about me is my ability and willingness to make difficult and painful decisions about my future. She added that she felt that I would sometimes take too long to make them but added that she appreciated that this was because I was the one who was going to have to live with it, not her.

Perhaps this clouds my view of making resolutions.

Edit. Thank you to Rick for making me realise that I should put down how I intend to act in 2022. Well it is to try and have a positive effect on everything that I am involved with.

    1. Mein Google Translater ist anscheinend kaputt. Immer wenn ich versuche auf Deinen ersten Satz zu antworten, übersetzt Google Translater es mir in deutsch. Komisch. Und wer ist Susie?

      1. I’m glad that my utterance made some sort of sense. Susie (Weare) was mentioned by Lisa in their video for today as she was only 1 letter out with guess for the twins’ new song title, she went for Songbirds. My jocular guess was Birds of Song, hence, my not necessarily in the right order comment.

Not necessarily in the right order is a famous (in the UK) part of a Morecambe and Wise sketch that involved Andre Previn the composer and conductor. You can watch a version on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctBybEdbEZA&t=826s which is of an american couple watching it. There are a number of asides that only english people of a certain vintage (that is me as well) will understand. Being on the M&W show was a huge thing for stars during the 70s and 80s. Andre Previn did not turn up until an hour before the performance so it was virtually off the cuff showing the talents of all 3.

      2. Thanks Phil. Sometimes I don’t get the subtleties here. The translator in my head is broken some days too. (To be honest, when I’m tired towards the evening and my concentration wanes, I sometimes find it hard to concentrate on English texts). I just had a quick look at “Morecambe and Wise breakfast”. (I can’t translate Morecambe. Is that a proper name?) Yes that is very funny. Reminds me a bit of Mr Bean and Stan Laurel / Oliver Hardy. And the breakfast scene in “Morecambe and Wise breakfast” reminds me again of this guy:
        https://youtu.be/VYB7fH4UO4M

      3. Yes Jurgen there are many clips of such skill and timing.

With some of my writing I do try to use testing prose and ‘flowery’ wording to test your english and sense your understanding of it. Your use of english is very eloquent but writing a language is very different from reading and understanding the nuances of something written by someone using their native language, as you state very clearly. I am trying to find the right level of complexity of wording so that I can converse with you in a free, friendly and humourous way without being too basic or too oblique. I’ll get there.

Do you recognise most of the languages that I have used or have you needed to look them up? Are you a natural linguist? I’ve only one left to use tomorrow. I could use arabic as well but as I’ve only been through Dubai airport it doesn’t really count!

      4. This text you wrote is just right in terms of difficulty level. I can read it well and understand it. Sometimes I might not understand a word, but then I can look it up. It is always difficult for me when English texts deviate strongly from the classical sentence structure. If colloquial terms or idioms are added, I usually have no chance of understanding anything. I don’t think I’m a natural linguist. At least not when it comes to learning new languages. But language itself is like a puzzle or a game to me. I love to play with words and concepts, to experiment, to twist and turn them until I like it. At least in the German language. I love to vary my style of speaking. From simple, to colloquial, yes, to scientific language. As I said, it works very well in my native language. Unfortunately, when I translate texts here, many details are often lost, there is no equivalent for certain words or phrases and I am happy when I can express myself understandably. I have noticed that when I spend a long time with people who speak a certain dialect or are English-speaking, I adopt their way of speaking (I do this unconsciously and somehow automatically). I think if I lived abroad for a longer period of time, my language and also my pronunciation would be quite acceptable. I spontaneously recognised some of the languages you used, although I can’t really distinguish between Spanish and Portuguese, for example. And Gaelic or Welsh, well… I recognised Indian because I have often visited Hindu temples. I can also recognise Thai or some Asian scripts from the typeface. In terms of content, I understand absolutely nothing in these languages. And as I mentioned before, when I’m tired, my language level drops a lot, like now for example.

      5. Hello Jurgen. When I was at school I thought of myself as being very average at english. I was always in the bottom half of my class for exams, my forte was mathematics where I was always in the top 5.

When I started work I realised that I was actually well above average and that my classmates were just exceptional. I realised too that my english teacher, Seamus O’Friel (most of the english teachers at my school were Irish) was a superb teacher. I ended up being the branch expert at replying to complaints and other difficult issues.

Like you, I love writing expansively in my mother tongue, using precise words to convey a subtle meaning and I have to take care to ensure that I write at the appropriate level for the recipient. In the first few paragraphs I have intentionally used some such phrases and words that may test you.

About 12 years ago I started writing short stories for children. Various people have told me that they have promise and I read some to my youngest nephew (Ben) and my niece (Annie) when they were about 9 and 7. Annie in particular was obviously gripped by several of them as she would say something towards the end that made me realise that she had followed the story all the way through and had got the joke. Indeed, she is now 17 and still mentions things about some of them. I haven’t really done much with them for 5 years or so and would like a spark to get me back into them.

5 days ago I sent an email to the personal address that you provided. Have you received it?

      6. Hello Phil, I received your email and I haven’t forgotten you either. I will answer you in the next few days. It sometimes takes me a little longer to reply to correspondence, but I’m sure I’ll reply.

      1. Thank you Jung. She had very few and simple rules when we were growing up. If we stuck to them life was easy and fun (blissful even), if we didn’t it was a day or two of missing out on things. We didn’t like that so we behaved. A case of her keeping things simple to achieve her aims.

  49. Wo wo!! Thank you Mona and Lisa, great prize!! Love it. My new years resolution is to re tire in 2022 and enjoy life , I have been with this company since 1976 and it is time.

    God Bless you both
    Bill and Maddie Isenberg

    1. Well done Bill and Maddie. Hand written lyrics are a thing to treasure and who knows…..they may became very valuable in the future.

Bill enjoy your retirement. I am semi-retired (I work part-time for my brother) and would like to just retire but until I qualify for my state pension I cannot afford to. I hope that, like me, you have loads of things lined up that you want to do.

      1. Oh my goodness Phillip I am sooo happy…Yes it will be framed and hung in the family game room aside the family photos. This is the best way to start off my Sunday …Love it

    2. I retired this year Bill. It can be truly wonderful. I no longer feel stressed and I have found peace and contentment. You will love it.

      1. Thanks Tim, I am so looking forward to it, right now my day starts at 3:30 and an hour drive to work to start at 5am and finish up at 4 thirty and get Maddie from Daycare and home at 6, long day for sure. People tell me it is wonderful and I need peace and contentment in my life. Thank god for the Mona Lisa Twins they make life manageable.

    3. Congrats Bill and Maddie. Those hand written lyrics are going to look great on the wall. Love reading along my MLT hand written lyrics every time I listen to The Wide, Wide Land. The song feels so much sweeter listening it while holding their song literally in my hands.

      1. Thanks Jung, as you can imagine , we are very excited and will frame it along with our family photo’s in our game room. So cool huh? It will be a treasure for sure!! Thank you Mona and Lisa!!

  50. My New Year’s resolution would be to make the time to practice my guitar playing more. As live performances get pushed to the wayside by covid mandates my instrument sits in its case, which is why I really enjoy you both and the inspiration and joy you bring as you play and sing. I’m so glad you are here!

  51. I would say to have my granddaughters listen to the Mona Lisa Twins more often but their mothers, who are identical twins like yourselves, are already making them listen to more Sugarland, Alison Kraus, John Denver and Irish music which they obviously enjoy as well. I love the interplay between you both as our twin girls, now 38 and mothers of 3 each, interact similarly to you girls. Our youngest daughter, 35, enjoys your music as well. Happy Christmas and a joyous New Year.

  52. Wake up with a smile. I’d like to travel a bit next year but that probably won’t happen.
Other than that just try and stay healthy and exercise. And do what the girls say …stay groovy!

  53. In 2022 I would like to improve my Bass playing for my Garage Band which was re-born in 2021 (after several years) thanks to the inspiration which I got from listening and watching Mona and Lisa in their music and their story.

  54. My resolutions are usually pretty simple, like to take things more easily with less stress, do something more creative to the garden (which I always forget by the spring!) and speak more often to relatives that are not so nearby.  These days it’s harder to travel anywhere and sometimes risky going to crowded places but it would be good to get back to normal again.

  55. Not really any resolutions, as Mona said it’s hard to make plans, the days ahead seem so unsure. I think for the short term to try and keep those around me healthy, and enjoy life as much as possible in the conditions we now live in, and hope for a better tomorrow.

  56. My New Years Resolution is to learn as much as possible as I can about new things and the real world that we all live in. Even at my ripe older age, I still want to do this. Many of these things are normally hidden from everyday life, and often called conspiracies by the mainstream media, but in time they are revealed as truths. We should all seek truth and never be told what is real and what is not. It is good to take on board ‘opinions’, but always seek the truth of such matters out for ourselves.

  57. You guys make me laugh everyday as I watch these advent videos….you are so funny with your facial expressions and tea tasting and rating the tea you are hilarious…and Mona yesterday with the Tea God filling the empty cup and adding sugar and Lisa acting surprised like she didn’t know…I love it…thank you…..now New Years Resolutions…I really don’t do those anymore mostly because I break the resolutions the first day…it’s like what’s the point…I just can’t get serious about it……….oh I do have a suggestion for you girls… here in the States we Americans have a TAX season from January 1-April 15…..a season that brings much angst to so many people…so I’m thinking that your wonderful live performance of Taxman would be a welcome song to the GP (general public) on YouTube starting January 1st❤️????

    1. I fully agree about the way they are on their advent videos and that it is one of the reasons that I find them so lovable and fascinating. I hope that I have a mind that is as lively as theirs are plus their first reaction is always to try and smile or find the humour in something…… basically be positive.

  58. I’ve never been one to tie personal resolutions to the calendar. Whenever I happen to summon the willpower to do whatever it is I want to do, that’s when the action is implemented.

But in the spirit of the question, one thing I need to work on once this pandemic is over is interacting more with my friends and family in person. E-mails and Zoom meetings have become just a little too comfortable, and I don’t miss being with people as much as I thought I would. So I’ll have to find the motivation to reinject myself into society before I become a crazy old hermit.

Kudos to everyone in this club for keeping me engaged in discussions, or I might be even farther gone by now!

    1. I agree with your sentiment that you just need to get on and do things now and not wait. I need to go and edit my response with a bit about next year, in the spirit of the question, as you so so correctly put it. Thank you

    2. Indeed David, human interaction has taken a toll for me too. I use to be a big advocate of being in the office interacting with people instead of working remotely, and loved those train commutes everyday with my mind in the lofty sky with MLT music. Nowadays I’m getting too comfortable working remotely.

  59. I am going to try and start to eat healthier. I have found as I get older I need to take better care of myself

  60. My great grandfather always said that we were born to die and once we can accept that we’re dying, we can truly live so I try to make each day meaningful.

If I were to pick a 2022 resolution for myself, it would be to finally finish my screenplay.

  61. Mona’s right — it’s hard to plan for the future these days. A few months ago I thought we were heading back to normal and now I’m wondering if 2022 will be a third lost year.

Even before 2020 I wasn’t much for New Year’s resolutions. Goals, maybe, which I think of as different: A resolution is what I say I’m going to do, a goal is what I say I’m going to try to achieve. A small but important distinction.

But in 2022 goals are hard to set.

I should eat better, though. That’s pretty much a pandemic-free goal, right?

  62. Retiring Jan 1st so going to have more time to practise my bass and guitar and hopefully reunite with my bandmate from high school

  63. I kinda stopped doing New Year’s Resolutions years ago, as I never really stuck to them but instead Just to Focus on trying to making the year Ahead a More Positive One in All Aspects of my Life , to become a more Contented and Better Me in order to Grow Older Best I can with what I have to offer and how to Enrich others from the InnerBeing Goodness Within Me, that’s a more Realistic and Approachable, Doable Ongoing Self Improvement to which myselfcandcAll I know and whomever out there will be Blessed Positively by my words, creativity, actions ????????☮

  64. How about this: instead of making a lot of plans at the beginning of the year and then not doing most of them, just praise yourself at the end of the year for all the things you have achieved:

This year I experienced many beautiful moments with my girl friend.
This year I made more time for cycling and sports.
This year I took more time for my hobbies again
This year I have thought less about the things I lost in life, but have been happy about the things that still exist in my life.

    Well done Jürgen!

PS: and the whole thing is best done together with friends, partner etc. with a sparkling glass of champagne, so that you can toast to your small successes.

      1. This year I met some very nice, interesting and great people here.
        Well done Jürgen.

  65. My New Year’s resolution is to stop procrastinating. I’ll start working on it in February.
