Should we release more Cavern Club videos to YouTube? – Poll
When we released the “Live at the Cavern Club” album we also shared the video clips to all 24 songs with you here in the MLT Club. You are able to watch the entire performance exclusively here in the MLT Club.
Only 5 of those videos are uploaded to our official YouTube channel too, and the other 19 songs are just available to you guys, the MLT Club members.
We want to hear your opinion on whether we should make more of them available to the “general public”. It is important to us that the MLT Club offers a lot of value and provides you with content that you wouldn’t get elsewhere. Most of the weekly videos we post here never leave the “walls” of the MLT Club and we always try to think of ways to make the Club feel more personal and fun.
On the other hand, every music video that is out there on YouTube helps us grow and potentially attract a wider audience and more MLT Club members, therefore growing our community and the possibility for bigger and better projects. So we would love to find a happy medium!
That’s why we thought we’d just ask you guys for feedback, in particular about the Cavern Club videos. They have now been MLT Club exclusives for several years. How do you feel about us sharing some of them (or all?!) to YouTube over the next months?

I like that we get to see the stuff first. But you need to put it out there to attract more people, new fans, so they can find out about the MonaLisa, Twins, and MLT club membership!! Grow that audience!

I agree with both Keith and Jung. Being able to see all of this material first as a Club Member is good, but you need to put them all out there on your you tube channel, I’ll watch them all over again, and you more than deserve to be seen by a much wider audience.
It’s nice to get the benefit of club membership by seeing new stuff first, but I think after a certain interval it’s good to allow the general public to see what they’ve been missing.
Must say I agree with Jung as well as with others who said their thinking was that the Club was for early and exclusive exposure to ‘product’, with the understanding that it would be widespread eventually. Like Patreon offers with a webcomic: X strips ahead of time before more widespread to everyone. Sending vids out to YouTube is such a good way to increase exposure among the public at large! It’s a no-brainer to me. A perfect example would be of a singer/composer named ‘Reinaeiry’ who is up-and-coming. I would <never> have heard of her work were it not for YT videos, no matter what else she was doing, simple as that.
Were it not for Youtube, I wouldn’t be here, truth. As much as I enjoy getting early releases to listen to, talk about here in the club, ultimately M and L need to make business decisions that keep you financially healthy. You need time and money to pay for new projects to come. We’ll feel special again soon enough. Post them all and Ill go watch all of them again from there.
I agree with Tomas I found Mona and Lisa on UTube, Revolution and The last time are the ones that reeled me in. So on one hand it will be a path to get more MLT Club members, on the other hand not so good. But with that being said, the Cavern Club performance is the best and why not show everyone how great mona and lisa are. Besides there are so many beniefits of the MLT Club, I don’t feel doing this will hurt. Just my 2 cents

I feel this is a double edged sword. Had it not been for YouTube, I wouldn’t have found MLT. That being said, there are a lot of videos out there that represent MLT very well.
For me, the Carven Club performance is a top notch performance, with an energy and engagement that only few can achieve, plus great musicianship from all performers, it’s a show for the ages. Maybe because I have performed in bars and clubs, it hits me harder as I understand how hard it is not to fall flat, and the Twins not only make it look easy, they pack a punch.
For me it deserves more than just YouTube.
I know making a movie out of it is a lot of work, to make it for Netflix, Amazon, or any streaming service. It’s already in 4K. It’s long for movie length, so it would have to be in 2 parts. Then there needs to be licensing for all the non-MLT songs. I can see adding short interviews between songs to build up the background story of how it came to be (it’s a great story), maybe the Cavern Manager and some musicians can show up with a soundbite here and there.
It may be a long shot and a lot of work and I know MLT have their plates full at any given time, but to me it’s an incredible performance and I would like to see it showcased.
Just my thoughts.
Maybe a few songs could be left in the Club for a while. Songs like This Boy, Revolution and a couple others you already have great versions on YouTube. Maybe keep them for release later. Whatever benefits you the most is my choice. Can’t wait for She’s A Woman to be posted. I like that video.
These videos are a reminder of what we are missing with an absence of live shows. So let the back catalogue migrate one video at a time – until you can start recording some more live performances.
If it hadn’t been for video exposure (YouTube, FB) I still likely would never have found The Twins. I understand exclusivity, but exposure is the doorway to success. I love the way MLT goes the independent route and avoiding the commercial labels, but media is a major key to spreading the joy that is MLT. Just my $.02.
Bring ’em on! “Hey, Bulldog!” was a great start! In all honesty, I don’t generally log into the club to view your music videos. Don’t get me wrong, I adore many that are still club-exclusive, including “Pretty 🦩” and “What a Wonderful 🌍”. It’s just so much simpler to play the ones that are available on YouTube and come directly onto my big screen tv without first finding them on the club and linking my phone or laptop to the TV. I appreciate your desire to provide value to membership, but each time you release a vid to YouTube it invariably results in an ‘All right!’ feeling in me. I’d spend much more time in the club if life weren’t so hectic, but mainly log on to access weekly postings and interact with fellow clubbers. I’d love to have more time to rewatch past vlogs, WOTTs, and even advent calendar posts, but home maintenance, yardwork, family, work, etc, etc. prevent extra free time. You’ve got amazing heads on your shoulders so just do what feels right, but please don’t think we could ever feel short-changed concerning club value!
This is how I came to know you, and love your talent and as people, so it can only help your career.
It had never occurred to me that MLT Club members would have exclusive access to any music videos forever, I just assumed it was ‘early access’. I agree with all of the comments below, please put them out there and get the additional exposure.
I think it is so important that your music gets out there, and the joy we’ve all been blessed with proliferate to more and more people across the globe, so if posting all the Cavern Club videos will help to do that, I am absolutely for that. I think with all your music videos, since we all get to see them first exclusively, it is a good thing they all get posted to the public eventually for the same reasons above. There are plenty of vlogs, behind the scenes videos, birthday gift opening, and photos that are exclusive to the MLT Clubbers, and being able to interact with you both, that bring a lot of amazing added value and benefit of being here in the club.
I will always support anything you want to do anyway. 😉

I’m British. The Politicians in the Houses of Parliament drive you nuts with it. They actually seem to compete with each other to see who can say “Hear hear” the most times and the loudest! It’s absurd

I agree, Unleash your sound to the rest of the world. You guys worked really hard on shaping yourselves into an original sound and showmanship, you need to be seen and heard.

Yes, I would love an “MLT Cavern Club” DVD, too, but understand royalties and other concerns might make it impractical. Also would adore a DVD of their first concert with the fam!
You should upload them all! I hope that more German people will see and hear you on YouTube and the radio stations would finally play your songs!

I am so thrilled that you are willing to put the entire Cavern Club video into general public…I absolutely love the “live” on stage videos……also concerning the first Duo Session album Pretty Flamingo is the only video still waiting on the sidelines…please make that one public also………..there’s a lot more to the MLT Club than just videos…new members will still find some videos in the club that haven’t been released yet such as some of the vids for Duo Session #2…….Thank You for considering going public❤️🧡

Release them all, the more they are heard the more interest they generate the more they will want to follow the music and the musicians
I believe you should do what you think is best for you and your music. I would suggest that you release them in small groups and spread them out in periods of time to see if you are getting the membership response you would like to have.
We as members are fortunate to share your journey but do pay yearly for that privilege (for Canadians that can be 3x the British Pound). It is nice to have a certain amount of time for exclusivity and spread the word to family and friends who may join so the can enjoy the music that they cannot get on You Tube.
The bottom line is the more you grow your exposure the more music we will have to enjoy Please stay true to your roots as well…..and Stay Groovy!!!!

Release them all! If they generate more members & revenue then you are better able to create other content that you can keep exclusive to the MLT Club.
I second every comment made to release them all to the public. I am sure most of us here enjoy the exclusive new weekly content and even more so to support you in your journey!! The Cavern Club videos should be shared with the World.
Yes, I think you should release them all on YouTube. I feel all the non-musical videos, pictures, and just personal attention we get for our monthly subscription is worth every penny. All of the Cavern Club videos are great and do well on YouTube, just look at Tell Me Why. I think it would result in many more fans. The world should experience Twinmania!!
Your talent should be shared with a much wider audience. I rave about you to friends and family and I’ve got to stop them saying ‘Who?’ and say ‘Yeah, they are great!’ My youngest 23 year old daughter is a big Beatles fan and was very impressed with both your covers and original songs. Let the world know about MLT!!!
I originally found you on line. Having heard you once I looked for you on YouTube. It seemed obvious next to join the MLT club. Having enjoyed all the music on offer there I feel it should be shared with everyone else.
I am a MLT Club member and you should release them all because more people will know you and see how great you are in concert and I hope more people will subscribe at the MLT Club. Th more we are, the best it is. Merci.
I feel the world should be able to see the talent and beauty of MLT. I have all your music on my phone so it’s always with me wherever I go. Sometimes I feel there’s nothing better than watching you Perform live. Some days I just enjoy laying back on the couch and watching your videos and to see them all just makes it that much more of a treat. I even subscribe to YouTube premium just to get all the commercials out of the way. After all there is so much more in the club that we can enjoy As members so I say go for it let the world see what we see from the greatest band alive today.
It wouldn’t be fair to keep all this talent and joy from the rest of the world. I’m a member of the MLT club because I believe in them and want to support them.
Share them all if you want. We want you to grow and prosper. I’m along for the ride and doing what little I can to help keep the dream alive.

I agree with Tim Johnston’s comment! Exposing the world to more of the Twins’ work can only have beneficial effects. Publicity is good!
I totally agree with Tim, the more people experience Mona and Lisa, the more people can enjoy their great songwritings,their fantastic harmonies and their beauty of hearts.
If they would bring as much Joy to their lives as MLT does to mine, the word would be a much better place. Most of us members would like to see your careers go well. I wish there was a certain way to help you ladies other than via the mlt club. I have, for instance done some request on radio channels, but never got an answer from them, maybe because the twins are independent?
There’s no “maybe” about it….if you’re not on a major label you’re not going to be heard on the radio…the major label will put up the $$$$for promotion…..there is however always the hope that some DJ may fall in love with the MLT sound and play a cut from a CD….but the idea of the entire world all listening to that station simultaneously is nil…..Mona and Lisa have been approached by many major labels but have turned them down….they have valid reasons for doing so…..so yeah they need to be YouTube Superstars….Love them girls❤️🧡

The more people see and hear the MonaLisa Twins, the happier the world will be.
I appreciate that these are exclusive to us, and I love the idea of being in this club with our benefits. But after a period of time, say 6 months or longer, I am okay with sharing with the world to help get the word out. I want to do all I can to help the Girls in their careers.

You are correct to say more people may become MLT Club members if you release them. I think you should only release one 🎥 every week or two or whatever you decide is best. They are your videos so you should choose how to release them. I’m pretty sure all MLT Club members have seen them (unless you have been holding back and you have more that we haven’t seen) lol.

Exclusive club content is a tremendous perk, but I don’t think recordings from a show that was staged for the general public in the first place have nearly the same degree of exclusivity as everything else you produce for us. I say, release as many Cavern Club performances as you want!
I would say to upload them after a reasonable amount of time being exclusive to our club.
I see the MLT mostly as a way to support you, not to get extras. Therefore, I’m happy with what serves you best, and that’s probably releasing all the videos, as it will bring more fans.
Completely , by all means, All should be uploaded , as it’s been said here, I believe many more folks will discover you and why it’s a part of all that which makes you stand out, are a refreshing breath of music air in today’s music landscape …
From the covers to your originals, and the few from the Cavern Residency , already uploaded, I can say and am convinced by further making rest of Cavern Residency videos All available will put a boost into In Awe-ness into the #MLTBuzzLuvGroovified Groovysphere , that will further create, eminate, radiate beyond Earth, etc …. Definitely make them all available! You give so much in other ways that is exclusive to club members! We love all the special things you do for us, but we can’t be greedy! The most important thing is to get your amazing performances out there so that more people are blessed by your gifts.
YES! All of them, we can share out to other future fans. Then to make it a club exclusive is place them on a DVD. Maybe a DVD for the store and a club exclusive DVD that would have extras that are not for the general public. Music not only for the ears, but for the eyes and ears. Your videos are wonderful, all of them.
Hi John, I always thought a DVD of The Cavern Club show would be a great idea. Not even as a Club exclusive but available for everyone with some Behind The Scenes footage and some inside stories and pic’s. I have the WWT DVD and I love it.
The DVD would be great but there’s something different in the way of how the DVDs from the UK are different from the DVDs in the states…I think it might be the DVD players themselves are different….so what I’m saying is that if we in the States buys a UK produced DVD ….it won’t work….I have a DVD of The Seekers from Australia and have never been able to watch it because it requires a different DVD Player.
I didn’t know that Rick. I know when they first came out with recordable DVD’s that you could transfer VHS to that you needed to format each disc to be playable on different PCs or DVD players. The Twins did produce the DVD for When We’re Together and I bought one and it works fine. I just think a full Cavern Club show with no breaks would be so cool.
The more I am able to share with my friends and family, the better. The Cavern Club performances are amazing. Spread them far and wide!

As much as I love the exclusive content, I believe in this case it’s OK to release them all. The potential new members vs non members, I think, far outweighs the need to keep them from the public eye. You’ve seen a couple of the songs reach or nearly reach 1 million Views. Imagine reaching ,potentially that many prospective new members. Even if only 200 new members joined, that’s over $2600 a month added money to add extra new content to the club. I believe the possibility far outweighs not uploading them to YouTube.
You could also make a special post announcing the Complete Cavern Club Concert is uploaded on YouTube. I believe people would watch it. I know I do. (I have them all saved in my library for me to watch personally)
What ever you decide will be just fine.
