“Neve” The Foster Gosling – Photos

Fly far, (song) bird …

This absolute cutie has been the centre of our universe these last couple of weeks. She has been by our side constantly, no matter if we were filming, editing, song writing (yes, we wrote a new one!), cooking, working, sleeping … and we even took her on a few picnics and walks in the sun.

In a couple of days she will finally make the move to a farm where she will be with a sibling her age (another Canada gosling), a pond, lots of land and a very kind family to look after her. Yes, we’ll miss her terribly but we know she’ll be happy there and she’ll have plenty of room to roam and spread her wings, literally and figuratively.

Geese mate for life, so with a bit of luck the other gosling turns out to be of the opposite gender and they can create a happy little goose family one day and live happily ever after together!

You best believe we’ve taken a lot of video footage of her for various upcoming surprises and, of course, countless photos which we want to show you today.

If you are not obsessed with animals like us, we apologise for the cuteness spam lately but we had to make the most of it for the short time she was with us – now we have plenty of photos and videos to remember the many enchanting moments 🙂

  1. A-DOR-ABLE! And Neve’s pretty cute, too! I’m pretty sure Rudolf will miss her nearly as much as you will, and Michaela seems pretty fond, too!

    1. Haha, yes It could have but no, she is named after the girl who originally found her (was the girl named after the mixing consoles?…who knows). What a nice coincidence though.

  2. There are millions of animal species on our planet and they all have the same right to live here. However, we would only caress very few as warmly as this gosling. This shows us once again how important the right outfit is!

  3. Awwww, these photos are so sweet and touching. Yeah, it will be hard to let her go, but you gave her love and caring that she will never forget, and she gave you memories that will stay with you always. And that is such a special thing.

  4. Very adorable shots of all, including Papa Goose Rudi, but of course of my favorites Mona and Lisa and Michaela. Neve is a “lucky duck” gosling for sure to have all that love shared on her. Seems from the pictures that Mona is Mother Goose and Lisa and Michaela like sisters. Priceless pictures and memories and experiences – very fun sharing!

  5. Some very nice shots for you to save and remember Neve. You all are so good with the camera! Perhaps one or two of these should be enlarged and placed on a wall?

  6. Hello Ladies,

Something in the way Neve moves,
Attracts me like no other Gosling,
Something in the way she holds my heart,
I don’t want to let her go,
I want her to stay forever.
I know she has to go,
And a part of our hearts will break,
    I know she’ll be ok,
    But I’ll miss her still.
Something about Neve will always hold my heart,
    As I bid her Farewell,
We love you little Gosling Songbird.
    Cuteness is never an overload.
Thanks so much for sharing these pictures.
And thank you Mona for Something near and dear to Spikes and my heart.
    Best always Ladies
    Rick Ross.

  7. Neve arrived at a perfect moment for both of you. You have been hard at work with the writing process and Neve’s arrival allowed you to stop and smell the roses for a little while. Even so, you were able to write a song during Neve’s stay. I have a strange feeling that the new tune will be unique and, of course excellent. Unique because it was written during a unique part of your lives, and excellent because everything that you do is excellent.

Thank you for the pictures, they will serve as a reminder of a special few weeks that you can look back to fondly.

  8. Cuteness overload would be an understatement here. It’s amazing how much she trusts you all. Animal bonds are quite special.

Thats a kool Floyd shirt, Lisa.
    Remembering games
    And daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path

The swimming lesson pics are kool. The suspended water droplets look neat. Don’t you love HD?
This feels like the beginning of an old fashioned Disney movie.

  9. Such cute photos! They are adorable for sure! I’m sure little Neve will find a mate pretty fast eventually! How could it not?! Team MLT are great ‘mommies”!

  10. I love the pic of Neve garlanded with flowers. I don’t know what’s wrong with so many of the young people these days or why they don’t seem to know what they’re missing. Animals and kids make life worth living. Not an original sentiment, I know. Thanks for caring.

  11. Fantastic photos for the family album! Neve is gorgeous and a very lucky gosling to be rescued by such a kind and loving foster family. I wonder why her own family rejected her … maybe a young, inexperienced pair or a single mum? Geese imprint on those who care for them as fluffballs so she’ll always love and remember you and if she stays around the Liverpool area, don’t be surprised if she drops in to visit her favourite folks. Watch out for a Canada goose whiffling out of the sky to say hello again, and maybe bringing hubby Wilbury and the kids to share in the kindness and cuddles she’s been telling them about! Just hope she doesn’t react to MLT music floating in the air or she’ll be chasing you all over the world!

  12. Thank you for this wonderful pictures which show what great hearts all of you have. My late wife once said,” Who does not love animals, who does not love humans as well.”
    Love you all! Frank

  13. These are great pictures. Love the swimming lessons and the little hobbit house! They wont stay fluffballs for long but it will be sad to say goodbye after spending this previous time with little Neve.

  14. Absolutely beautiful photos. You probably realise that Neve loves you all too, and why she would want to go back to the wild is beyond me when she has such a beautiful life at the moment. You have clearly spent a great deal of time and given her so much love. Well done, it’s as hard to raise a wild animal as it is a baby, so be rest assured you will both be great mothers when the time is right, if that’s the route you wish to take. Take care, love you all.

  15. What a lovely gosling !????
Mona and Lisa look so in love and happy.

Having a cute animal is like having a new family member.

I’m sad to see the gosling return to nature, but I dream that one day they will be free to sing and spread their wings.

Thank you for the lovely gosling photos.
And of course, Mona and Lisa.????????????‍♀️????????‍????

  16. I’m still enjoying the pictures very much ! I like her wearing the flowers.
Neve , The Song Bird , Groovy.
I’m glad you found a nice farm for her to live on !

  17. These are very nice pictures. You’ll miss him when he goes. I see a lot of geese on my travels everyday, lots of new babies. They grow up fast. Thanks for sharing and showing lots of love to Neve. I’ll think of him on my travels. Yes they mate for life.

  18. These pictures are wonderful. It proves once again that, all you need is love. And the Wagner family are overflowing with it. Thank you for sharing with us.

  19. Thanks so much for sharing these photos. Little Neve is just adorable, and the photos of Neve curling up to either of you and Michaela and Papa Rudi are all just heartwarming. Looking at the slideshow, I realize despite being abandoned, Neve is the luckiest bird in the world to feel and experience so much love from you both!

She looked so cute on her first swimming lesson, and looking all wet afterwards. Loved the picture with Neve and her flower hat, and the flowered necklace. Listening to Songbird while looking at the photos are perfection, what a prophecy indeed. It almost calls for a Songbird video 2 featuring Neve. Seeing that one photo of the 3 of you, I kept hearing Three Little Birds.

I hope you get to visit Neve at the farm from time to time to see her grow. Great to hear she will have a gosling companion in her new home. You are both absolute angels to rescue Neve like that, and showing her so much kindness and love. Thanks again, for sharing these beautiful moments with us. ????

    1. A second “Songbird” video featuring Neve is an absolutely perfect idea. Jung, as always, an excellent suggestion!

      1. Thanks Christopher. Neve is very special the way she appeared in Mona and Lisa’s world, like it was meant to be.

  20. How did I miss that Neve does have a name? So, I won’t call her Joan anymore. It doesn’t matter… What’s in a name anyhow? ????
She is so adorable I would probably call her cutie all of the time. My wife said that our puppy “Leo” is going to think his name is “Sweetie” because I call him that all the time. But, in my defense he is sweet. ????❤

  21. I love these photos and I believe they say as much about the four of you as they do about Neve. There is so much true love in all of these pictures and in the hearts of Mona, Lisa, Rudy and Michaela. The World would be an even more beautiful place if more people could give of themselves as you have for Neve. Thank you for sharing this adorable set of pictures. I truly love all of you… Brian

  22. Little Neve is beyond adorable and, since birds of a feather stick together, you found each other. The joy you share is clearly evident in these wonderful photos. You are both glowing and that warms my heart too. No doubt little Neve will be the inspiration for new music. Awesome!

  23. Well if you girls ever have children of your own we all know they will be well looked after and probably a shortage of film at the store…LOL…Thanks for being the loving and caring people that you are…and it was nice to see Papa Rudi and Michaela ❤️????

  24. I loved every picture of little “Neve”. It looks like Rudi and Michaela got caught up in the “Neve” frenzy too. I know the entire MLT family will be sad to see her go. Keep loving your animals. I saw a caption in a magazine once that read “LIFE IS BETTER WITH ANIMALS”. I agreed wholeheartedly!

  25. Love it Mona and Lisa!! Just love it, these photo’s are so nice. Like I always say, it is like family with you ladies showing photo’s of vacation, events and the little cutie!! Love all the photo’s but the ones with you all hugging and kissing and sleeping are my favorites! Nice to see Pa and Micaela in on the photo’s too!! You took good care of the little one and we all are so proud of the way you took care of the little one and the love you all have is so sweet and kind! Hate to see it all come to an end but it is the best and maybe this will give you some idea’s for a couple of songs from this experience? Hum we will see. Thank you again and keep it coming we all love you !

  26. Neve is cute lil ol bird. My favorite picture is the one where she is sleeping. You guys are excellent photographers and cinematographers. Peace be.

  27. Well, where do I begin… she (the little gosling) is just precious. I feel sad for her not having a name, so I’m going to call her “Joan” because she looks “quizzical” to me.
It looks to me like her Grandparents are as enamored with her as her parents. I know it’s going to be heartbreaking for all of you to let her go, but you are doing what’s best for her. Joan will be applying her knowledge of science to the water of the pond on the farm. And, hopefully her knowledge of nature with the other gosling. And one day maybe you two will be Grandparents! ????
I love the pictures… thank you for sharing them with us. I loved the little flower necklace you made for her. Weeds to some maybe, but it was cute. All of the pictures were great but I do have some favorites: the flower necklace, nose to nose with her Granddaddy, the ones in the bath, the ones of her napping with y’all, the one in Lisa’s hoodie, and all of the rest. Alright, so I can’t pick a favorite! She’s adorable, so are you both and the family is awesome for taking care of her and doing what is in her best interest. Y’all are beyond groovy!!

  28. These are such cute pictures. They made me miss my cat (we are still on vacation). Neve seems to have really bonded with you. And vice versa. You’ll have to tell us which song you co-wrote with Neve!

  29. Absolutely Precious!! Love the pics.,and look forward to seeing Neve’s future appearances. Your love of animals is just one of the many reasons. I am a proud member of the MLT Club. A few years ago,my friend Jim who has 2 Koi ponds in his yard, ended up with 7 ducklings that were hatched in his garden. We had so much fun watching them grow, and caring for them, til they were able to fly away on their own..
As Always sending Love & Hugs to All

  30. Awwwwwwww…. so sweet are these photos, Neve will always remember you, I’m convinced of it and if ever there is a reunion, I’m certain she will remember you all… You’ve all been a great foster family for her, looking forward to the “Neve– featured surprises in store for us… I’m a proud Canadian right now???????????????????????? …. Hoping she’ll settle in her forever home fab, Thankyou for the cuteness overload after a rough week around my area, in Texas, etc, warms my heart with smiles

    1. Hi Jacki….I thought you were in Canada being a Canadian you know but you mentioned Texas….whereabouts are you in Texas…I’m in Dallas / Ft Worth area.

      1. Lol.. I’m indeed Canadian.. You misunderstood my comment…I meant to say around locally area as in Ottawa ???????? and what had gone on down in Texas and Buffalo , my apologies for not wording myself correctly… I have eye issues…I don’t always type properly…you were right the first time when you replied ” I thought you were in Canada, being a Canadian “, sorry again that my comment confused you…to set record straight…I’m definitely 100 % Canadian born/raised ….

      2. And I’ve never been to Texas …only part of USA that I’ve ever been to is the Watertown/Ogdensburg/Oswego/Massena NY areas nearing the Cornwall Ontario border Bridge crossing and at 1000 Islands Ivy Lea Border Bridge Crossing at Landsdowne Ontario — Cornwall and Landsdiwne in Ontario Canada …both about and an hour and half away from where I live ….

      3. Well Jackie I grew up in Syracuse NY and definitely am familiar with Ogdensburg and Oswego but at age 20 in 1970 I moved to Utah and then in 1976 to Dallas / Ft Worth…..I might add that my mothers side of the family is French Canadian from Montreal area….Take care Jacki. !

  31. I can see that you love Neve just like I love my dog Sadie. I hope that you will be able to visit her in her new home! Love the pictures!
