ORANGE (Part 1) – Q&A

It’s Question & Answer Time!

A few months ago, we asked you all to submit some questions you had about our original album “ORANGE”. As you know, we like to put a little bit of a theme on our Q&A videos, and after doing one about our debut album “When We’re Together” we decided to also make one about the original album that was to follow.

Since we got quite a lot of questions, we decided to make this in 2 parts. Which also means that if you have any more question that weren’t answered in this video, there is still time to submit them.

We hope you enjoyed part 1 of this album “deep dive”.

We’ll see you next week and thank you for watching!

  1. Come on fellow MLT Club members, Mona and Lisa are much too kind for “Sweet Lorraine” to be an autobiographical sketch, lol! But oh my, what fun!

I started listening to the MonaLisa Twins for their rendition of Beatles songs. Very quickly I fell for their original compositions. Within a month I joined the club.

It is great to see a pair of real musicians in today’s world. Thank you ladies for answering the questions that needed to be answered, lol. Looking forward to your new album!

  2. Great questions and answers!
Well, I’m one who watches Club 27 often. It’s a great video, let alone a top notch song, and it’s the best lyric video I’ve seen. I know doing it takes a lot of time and technical skill, and it’s also very creative on the text effects.

Maybe one day we’ll have an “Anthology” album with all the demos??

  3. Thanks for answering the questions. I guess Sweet Lorraine is going to be like Maggie May and the legend will be bigger than any one person. Still my favorite on Orange, though…….Close To You is a close second. Also, when I record my meager songs, I try to aim for something between 2:30 and 3:00 minutes. But, I do have one that is under 2:00 minutes and really cannot add anything to it. To add more would take away from the song.

  4. “Sweet Lorraine” is an absolute classic. In the vein of “Mack the Knife” but tighter. Cascading twists on “a kiss.” I was oddly disappointed not to hear about any autobiographical aspects.

  5. “No session musicians were injured in this recording” cracked me up! I’m always impressed with your musical and instrumental talents! Can’t wait for part 2!

  6. Just love the Orange album and I listen a couple times a week. Count on me is my favorite but the entire album is number one in my heart. Every song takes you on a journey and the arrangement of the songs from start to finish is perfect and to end with Friend of mine is perfect.

  7. Jackie’s comment reminded me I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed the alternate take audio clip! I always enjoy hearing alternate or early versions of Beatles recordings, and this one of yours was every bit as….no, strike that….even more enjoyable and special!

  8. Hi Mona, hi Lisa, I like your album “Orange” very much especially the song “Hey waiter” with John Sebastian on blues harp. How come the relation ship between John S. and you?
    Greetings from Bavaria. Frank R.

  9. I could listen to you two talk all day long! You make everything sound so interesting and fun. Your passion for what you do gushes right through and infects everyone around you. Thanks for taking the time to write out all the questions and answer each one. “I’m just sittin’ back sittin’ here loving you”… and just can’t wait for the next Part 2!!!

  10. Thoroughly enjoyed that, learned much…. It always enlightens me how you describe in great detail, groovy enthusiasm how things were brought about, done, created, etc… I can easily visualize the whole shebang of the process…. even the audio glimpses of early demos are are bonus…. Great Qs for Part 1, now staying tuned for/towards the freshly squeezed Qs and As that will pour out creatively for Part 2 … #MLTBuzzLuvGroovified Satisfied Musicfied Fortified, Thankyou, as this is one Daily Supplement I enjoy taking …. ????????????

  11. Hey, that was great to get more insight on Sweet Lorraine, interesting how the idea of it originated. Love that song. ???? I thought Club 27 lyric video was done so tastefully and the visual graphic effects with the music was brilliant. ????????Looking forward to part 2.

  12. I love the q and a sessions, they may be my favorites. Truth be told, you could get away reading the phone book or recipes to captivate me. But I do love learning the backstory or the process you undergo. It allows me to enjoy the songs even more. Orange was the last full size cd of yours I bought and I love it.

  13. Listening to the two of you tell how certain songs were written and how the album Orange came to be makes listening to your music so much more enjoyable. Still A Friend Of Mine was the first original song of yours that I had the pleasure to hear and it helped make me the fan that I am of your amazing talents. Love these videos!

  14. I really enjoyed the Q&A on Orange. Since I used to play years ago, I am always interested in a songs background. I’m so impressed by MLT’s music and personalities. Of course, being very pretty doesn’t hurt either.

  15. Love the energy and happiness and beauty inside and out my favorites project. Also pretty cool to hear the backstories. I think the girls should be making a “Get Back” style movie of them making the new album. I would surely love to see them for longer than a few minutes at a time…

  16. That was a ton of fun and VERY informative, too! Anyone else notice that both twins smile even when talking, and of course while the other sister is talking, too? Just another subtle nuance that makes them so much fun to spend time with, or at least in front of the TV with! THANKS, Ladies! ????????‍????????????‍????????
