Questionable – Behind the Scenes

Come, have a peek behind the green screen …

Welcome to the making-of video for “Questionable”, our most recent official original release (we have since shared some more original tunes here in the MLT Club).

A few weeks ago we already shared the photo post to accompany the music video but yesterday we finally finished cutting together the behind-the-scenes video for it. 3 Days of Shooting – 1 day for the “spa” scenes, 1 day for the “dating” scenes and 1 day for the “performing/singing” scenes. Followed by a week of non-stop editing, something we didn’t include in the making-of as it would only show us sitting in front of the computer. 🙂

We hope you’ll enjoy the video and once again send our thanks to everyone involved!

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. Great shoot, loved watching you too girls. To me it shows how much Papa Rudi and Michaela do behind the scenes. Well done to them as well

  2. This is a cool video. It shows not only what goes on behind the scenes but also shows how much work is involved. It must be a labor of love though because you are still laughing and smiling at 11pm. Very interesting stuff.

    1. Totally agree. It’s all great; the last day of the shoot (for the chorus) particularly pleasing for me.

Two months into my MLT fandom, this remains my favorite twins original tune, video, and behind the scenes segment. The song is pure pop heaven. Lisa’s lead vocal amazing (are you ticklish anywherrrrrrrre, how about do you tend to wash your hairrrrrrrrr……….) and watching her performance in the video you’d think she was a professional actress.

And Mona, looking like Shelley Fabares meets Mary Weiss, wonderful with the harmonies.

      1. and “How often do you change your underwear”. I’m curious as to who wrote that line ( I’m guessing Lisa ) and I wonder what Papa Rudi thought of it. I suspect he got a chuckle from it.

  3. Thoroughly enjoyed this.
These behind the scenes films are fascinating and demonstrate the range of skills that you all have; so thanks for making them and sharing them..
I’m sure that the finished product is as good and maybe better than one that could have cost thousands of pounds more.

  4. Von Video zu Video wird deutlich, dass Ihr nicht nur gute Sängerinnen und Musikerinnen seid, sondern auch Schauspieltalent habt.

  5. Besides being incredibly talented ladies, Mona and Lisa are just beautiful with sparkling personalities and true kindness in their every movement and delivery. The way they treat each other and the way they they make others feel special is a gift… and, I don’t know about you… but I love them for it. Hugs and wishing you a terrific 2023. Bri

  6. I am even more impressed with the finished product now that I’ve seen what went on behind the scenes. All the actors, including Lisa, playing one side of a conversation with no one on the other side. A splendid job all around. What makes it all even more amazing is knowing that this wasn’t contracted out to a video production company with loads of experience with sets and actors, etc. And shot in 8K to boot. Very smart and very smartly done by a very smart and talented team.

  7. As I always say, you ladies are a very rare breed, to do what you do for us in the MLT Club is amazing to me, I love these behind the senses segments and you all put so much into what ever you do, either video’s, music, what’s on the table, etc….you do it up right. Mona you looked so cool with the curlers in your hair, heck my mom always did her own hair and that reminded me of my mom. Lisa wow working with all those guys had to be cool, although I hope they all realize how lucky they are be with you 2, I know I would be falling on the floor….LOL…But thank you so much for the behind the senses and please keep it coming

  8. What a joy watching this video , your family is awesome !
One of the reasons I like watching American Bandstand videos of the 60’s is for the different hairstyles.
    Thanks again for sharing !

  9. I’ve always loved behind the scenes stuff, and this is no exception. The teamwork involed is incredible. You guys work so well together, like a well-oiled machine. Your humor (or should I say humour) is so much fun to watch. Smiling knees! I wish I could be there! Love from Wisconsin USA!

  10. These behind the scenes videos are just about as good as being a fly on the wall, and these young aspiring guys must have wondered how they could have landed such a sweet audition.

Two minutes into the video Lisa makes reference to the church hall they have rented, and where the “audition” will be held. Right away, although I knew it unlikely to be true, I imagined the “audition” they were about to shoot was taking place in the very church hall, at St. Peter’s Church, Woolton, where, on July 6, 1957, Paul McCartney and John Lennon were introduced to each other by their mutual friend Ivan Vaughn. Farfetched? Well, yeah. But all church halls look pretty much the same.

As for the video, well, top notch of course! And not to forget the choice of background tunes: In It For Love, That’s Life, No More Worries Company, and Lola. Kind of cheeky, but surely representative of our MLT.

There is one detail though, that did not get any sort of comment or well deserved profile. Maybe they just speak for themselves. The dresses! Like the skills of the hairdresser, the dress maker was clearly working for maximum effect. And it worked! Credit where credit is due.

  11. As many have said one does not realize how much work goes into shooting a video on top of just getting set up and the post production of it. Thanks for a look in.

  12. These behind the scenes videos are so cool. I love seeing how your magic is brought to life. So much work and so worth it!

  13. That was awesome! I very much enjoyed it all and was surprised at how some of the scenes came together.
Thank you for sharing your hard work. It really made me laugh, surprised me and melted my heart. Thank you for being bright stars in my dark sky. I so enjoyed watching.

  14. I really enjoy these behind the scenes episodes. And as always, it shows the hours of work you all put in for a three minute music video. And it also shows how much you enjoy what you do.

  15. I’m in awe of your talent, not only do you sing and play a variety of instruments but you act, work behind the scenes when it’s not your shot and direct the actors who came in to help. Well done girls.

  16. I love these behind the scenes video’s. I learn a lot of things from them, such as you need vision and talent to pull a video off. Something you ladies seem to have in abundance. I really am blown away by how you pull these things together, and I hope you continue to show us the secrets behind the curtains. This song is my favorite of all the new ones on your new album, and I probably watch this video a dozen times each week. I appreciate the homage to the 60’s girl groups and you make marvelous and gorgeous 60’s chicks. I hope to see you as them in a future video or two, they are worth bringing back.

  17. Very interesting. Very enjoyable. Lots of fun to watch.
Thank you so much for doing it and showing it to us.
    Love you,
    Bobby S.

  18. It is a wonderful experience to watch this “behind the scenes” video and see just how much work and fun went into the video. Thank you for sharing this and for cheering me up as I push through a bad head cold!

  19. As usual that was really fun! I’ll bet the guys loved filming this video, I know I would have! Oh to be that young again! And as always you girls looked beautiful. Kudos to the hair stylist as well and papa Rudi and Michaela!

  20. These Behind the Scenes videos are great! They show how much work goes into filming the videos. The Wagner family does such a great job with everything they do. Thank you for allowing us to see how the videos come together.

  21. Such a synchronized and professional team. Even the behind-the-scenes content is entertaining, well produced and fun to watch. Who wouldn’t want to be an extra in one of your projects?

  22. That was wonderful entertainment and very interesting to see how you created this masterpiece. Thank you so much for sharing with us!
Most of all need to give a huge THANK YOU to all four of you for the SMILES you bring with each and every post. Always brightens up the day! 🙂

  23. It’s amazing that MLT can distill three days of work down to fourteen minutes, and still make us feel as if we were there for the whole thing!

Now that we know the sloppy guy wasn’t sloppy when he arrived, I find myself wondering whether that idea was pre-planned or if it was a spontaneous decision.

  24. Really enjoy you sharing your life with us. So cool! And it shows how hard you all work, and how well you all work together. Thank you for sharing! You all rock!

  25. One of the best parts of being an MLT Club member. Love these behind the scenes videos.Just shows how Multi Talented you truly are. Can’t wait to see what you Ladies have in store for us next.

    Love & Hugs to All????❤????

  26. Amazing to see how organised you all are and such great teamwork to pull together all the strands of the production from getting the hair just right to making every shot the best it can be. Lisa vanished behind a veil of hair in the hairdresser but came out looking fantastic. Another great video full of fun. And you even take the time to record the process for making-off videos!

  27. Really enjoyed the ‘behind the scenes’. Of course, the big secret of a successful film shoot is now clear – cake and even more cake.

  28. TGIF!
These behind the scenes videos are great. This one has a real rockumentary feel to it, It’s fun to watch the real video right after watching these. Ah, so that’s how they did that. I wonder if I can wait to watch the next video until after the behind the scenes video is released. That would require a lot of will power. If you have not seen all of the videos yet, watch the behind the scenes vids first?
After a peak behind the green screen I have to say, a couple of the guys’ voices did not sound like I thought they would. They looked like they were having a great time.

I know quite a few of us have mentioned the time machine theory. Did Mona just inform us that they are in the past and will see us in the future?

Watching the four of you work together is very inspirational. Live, Love, Laugh. Although, Marlo wants to nominate Michaela for Employee of the Month.

I can tell how much work went into Questionable when your faces light up at the realization you just completed the final shot.

    Congratulations on another masterpiece!

    Marlo & JP

  29. I love all the “Behind the Scenes” vids and this is easily one of the best! Not only do we get to see how much fun team MLT had thru their toils, in this one we get to see the other actors having a blast, too! I’ll bet the hairdresser doesn’t often get to work with sheer volume of hair to rival Lisa’s luxurious locks! It’s always a treat to see the ever-hard-working Michaela doing more than her fair share of the hard work with a smile on her face! And we finally get a tiny hint from whence Mona grad #2 from IBMAP inherited her klutz genes: Watch out for that tripod, PapaRudi! Sorry, Rudolph, but you know how much I respect your mad myriad of insane skills and I haven’t picked on you since I called you Rod Stewart in the vintage Christmas vids! Thanks so much for entertaining us all in Club MLT as only Team MLT can!

  30. Seeing your behind the scenes, it is all so fascinating! I remember downtown in my city in the area I work, it’s very popular for film crews to setup a movie set to film some scenes and they would spend days, even weeks, with incredible props for a short movie scene. The the amount of planning, work that goes into it is amazing, and seeing this just reminds me of that.

In Lisa’s interview scene, the professional acting really comes across, you are both naturals in front of the camera, like seasoned professional actresses. In all your videos, you have a natural charisma, and you are able to carry on a conversation so effortlessly. That is a great skill I think, very few musicians possess, a huge asset you have. In the spa scene, despite the face cream and curlers, I couldn’t get over how cute you both looked.

Your video productions are world class on par with any of the professional film production companies, and the fact it’s all done by just the 4 of you is amazing. What an incredible team! Thanks so much for putting this together and sharing with us, it was so fun to watch, loved it.

  31. I’m always excited to see the magic that goes on behind the scenes, and this one is no different. “Questionable” is an exceptional song even if there had never been a video at all. The video just takes the music to another level and it makes us feel more in touch with the performers and accompaniment. Everyone did a superb job and MLT Enterprises has once again exceeded expectations.

  32. I mean, is it even legal to have so much fun!?? I simply can’t thank you enough for sharing how you managed to put all this together. It’s almost like being there and actually getting to take part in the fabulous escapades. Great entertainment from every possible angle. This is why team MLT is hands down my favorite of favorites. Luv ya more and more every day.

  33. Hello Ladies!
Wow! What fun you all had!
No wonder you enjoyed shooting this video. So many Directions!
My favorite has to be the “hair styling” day. That era is my favorite Genre of music!
The Bubble Flip and Beehive are the classic looks of hair styles that Everyone Had.
Thank you so much for sharing this green screen look You all are the best.
Thanks to Team MLT! The way you work together is brilliant.

  34. The Behind the Scenes videos are terrific. Watching the preparation and the execution of your videos is something that everyone who wants to have a career in video making should watch…and they better take notes!

For the rest of us, true MLT fans, we are given the opportunity to further appreciate Team Wagner. It is so nice to see how well that the family works together in your pursuit of excellence–a pursuit that you reach with every endeavor. You have no egos. Extraordinary talent, hard work, love, respect, and kindness always are evident in every Behind the Scenes video!

“Questionable” is a wonderful song, which is matched with a video that further enhances the entire presentation. A perfect, not a “questionable pair”!

Finally, it is so much fun to watch these videos. It feels like we are there. Thank you Mona, Lisa, Papa Rudi, and Michaela for the privilege of allowing us to enjoy the process!

  35. I always feel as though a MonaLisa Twins video is made just for me, and this video is no different!

  36. I always enjoy these and always seem to learn something new about the complex process of making a video – hope to see more of these in the months ahead.

  37. Behind the Scenes is always a blast to watch….when the video first came out there were a lot of comments about the performance scene and comparisons to The Supremes….well just a couple days ago I came across a Ronettes video from the early 60s and they were wearing …it sure looked like…the same dresses you were wearing….Team MLT put on another fine display of how to DIY…DO IT YOURSELF….in 3 days…instead of a cast and crew of 40 people taking 2 weeks and spending thousands of ????????????…Papa Rudi is a genius…Michaela is a master of getting people lined up for hair..dresses…kitchen loaded with food…and making sure everybody is following the game plan and ready for action…and from the day you girls were born somebody has been filming you and so after all these years you’ve been perfecting your acting talents to the point you’d be lost if there wasn’t a camera on you….you should be in the movies where we could have soda and popcorn and watch you….kind of like this past Monday..my birthday…everything was Poppin’ in my birthday video…it was hilarious…THANK YOU and I am “keeping it groovy”

  38. Highly entertaining…. even when unexpected tech hiccups pop up (dead batteries for GreenScreen Remote …) , But…You certainly do go all out in hard work, due diligence, to create an ultimate polished creative visual masterpiece at the end of the day, week… Kudos and much enjoyed seeing how it all came together, Thankyou for sharing ????????

  39. This is a great look behind the scene. It looks like there’s a lot more work than one might think to make your video. Es macht mir freu!!

  40. I love the song! Watching the production of the video is AWESOME! It brings back a lot of memories when I was in the television business producing videos and shows. The video is perfect with the audio! Great production! Well Done!

  41. Wonderful to see the entire family working behind the scenes to make an artistic presentation. Behind the scenes to Questionable are answerable questions to Questionable ???? what you all do, is what you do very well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  42. All of you work so hard to bring out the best in all you do!!!!! Thanks so much, it’s great seeing what goes on behind the scenes. Thank God I am not a woman, so much pampering but hey you are looking fantastic!!!! Stay Groovy!!!!

  43. Big thanks for the behind the scenes. I know it’s hard work for you guys, but you still seem to have fun. I laugh so hard! It’s amazing how you put it all together. It always works. I was wondering if the dirty guy was wearing a ML hoodie; now I know. Love the background music. I will have get my CDs out and play them. A rhetorical statement – Lisa you have a lot of hair! Lol. Stay groovy. Peace be
