Shropshire Hills Hike – Photos

As the weather is getting warmer, we are starting to plan some more hikes, camping trips and outdoor adventures. It’s our favourite way to unwind and recharge, especially if it’s together with the whole MLT gang 🙂

Here are some pictures of when we all went for a walk/hike in the Shropshire Hills last summer. The perfect little summer trip and something we cannot wait to do again this year. We thought you might like to come along for the adventure through some of the photos we took along the way.

A beautiful part of the UK 🌞

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. Your photos of the Shropshire Hills are absolutely beautiful. What could be more pleasing than seeing such a beautiful family trekking through them. Mona and Lisa are always gorgeous and so photogenic.

  2. One thing that is fun to do is play these photos like a slideshow and play an MLT song behind them. Doesn’t matter what song either, they all work.

  3. It is always a great pleasure to see pictures of you together in vacation, you are a great family, thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures.

  4. We love Wagner vacation photos! You all have such lovely smiles. Glad to see you encountered some sheep on your trip. Do they follow you on Social Media to track your whereabouts? Isn’t there an app called Sheepster? Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away🎶🎶

We both think Mona looks REALLY PRETTY in her Spring dress.

    Love,

    Marlo & JP

  6. Great pictures, and beautiful horse! So nice to be out in nature. I first heard of Sheepshire Shropshire, from the BBC show “Escape to the Country”, it seems such a lovely area.
    Thank you!

  7. A lovely day, beautiful scenery, an extremely photogenic family with wonderful photographic skills – what a great combination! Thanks for posting these photos. They help make the MLT Club special beyond the great music.

  8. I see a lot of calendar worthy pictures here. The one of Lisa looking to her left while she is backlit is my favorite.

  9. I love your videos and photos about walks, hikes and runs.. thanks for taking us with you.. I’d love to be together .. but, there are two oceans away from you, the South and the north Atlantic.. I love you lovely Wagner family.. be happy and Stay Groovy.

  10. It was really good to see a few pics of Papa Rudi and Michaela as they are a part of the MonaLisa Twins brand and of course seeing our favorite twins out and about having fun outdoors in the beautiful countryside …gotta luvit❤️🧡

  11. Great pictures. But, “Shooting Box?” Were y’all dogging bullets!!!??? No wonder you were hiding behind a tree, Mona! 😄 I love the little flowers (weeds) you picked. They were very colorful and one looked like its own little garden. There’s a lot of beauty in nature if you take the time to look for it. Overall the scenery was breathtaking. It looked like a fantastic hike. 💙❤️💛❤️

  12. This brought back many memories of hiking in the mountains of Colorado, USA with my family as a child and later with my own family. The picture of Rudi drinking from the stream also made me think how we too did that as a child. The close-up pictures of the flowers are great, so tiny yet so magnificent. So much beauty in the world. And so many beautiful people also. It’s sad there is so much turmoil in the world and people can’t get along. The MLT Club is a place of happiness. Thanks for sharing some of that beauty with us.

    1. William, I also was reminded of the mountains in Colorado looking at those pictures… that’s where I currently live between Denver and Colorado Springs. I am usually on my dirtbike…. that area got 8 inches of snow yesterday! Can’t wait till it’s gone! Looks like the Wagner family had a great time!

      1. Hi Tim. I was born in Boulder and lived there until I got married in 1975. We then lived in an apartment until we baught a house in Superior in 1976. We lived there until the Marshal Fire took our house and my woodshop. I spent many many hours in the mountains camping and hiking as a kid and with my own family. I’m 73 now and don’t get in the mountains much anymore. And with the fire We lost all our pictures and video’s we had of those times. OH to be young again!

      2. Oh to be young again indeed! I’m also 73, but the memories are great – in my mind I can still sit on top of that mountain and still feel the cold mountain stream water flow over my feet.

      3. I’m so sorry to hear that you lost your home and shop in that fire…. Our family business is in Golden so I’m very familiar with what happened in your neighborhood. Very bizarre trail of destruction!

  13. What a great excursion. Gorgeous scenery and hardly another soul around. The British countryside is beautiful. So much nicer to come across a sheep than a bear. This would be an ideal spot to do a cover of Mother Nature’s Son, if you’re wondering what else to do for the next Duo Sessions CD.

  14. Every time I glance at the photo at the top of this page I think for a second that Lisa is a quarterback positioned over a football, and I read the title as “Shropshire! Hills! HIKE!”

  15. You are correct – some of us do like these posts. What a beautiful place Shropshire Hills is!

The picture of Lisa in the air above the post (#10355) is a great shot.

It has struck me many times that a picture of a small, rocky stream in the hills or mountains is so much the same around the world. If I look at the picture of Lisa or Papa Rudi next to the stream without any context, I wouldn’t even know what country you were in. I might even swear that I had been there.

One more thing about the water; that crystal clear water running over rocks: so few people anymore realize that you can drink water from streams like this; so few get to taste the difference between this water and the processed water we are used to drinking. I should note that a few people have almost no resistance to some microbes that might be in natural water, but like the rest of my family, I’ve been doing it since I was a kid.

I’ve been very busy this spring with home projects, but I need to get back out for a hike in the nearby mountains.

  16. Fabulous! Nice to see you out enjoying such beautiful surroundings. Made all the more beautiful by the presence of 4 wonderful souls!

  17. I liked that Mona wore a nice dress while shorts we worn by the others.
Great photos of beautiful country, thanks for sharing

  18. Oh, those photos make my heart yearn to set foot in that paradise! The sixth one actually looks eerily like a place I’ve had a recurring dream about. Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful photos of your family vacation.

  19. Wow, I just loved seeing these photos! Thanks so much for taking us along. Some absolutely amazing shots of each of you, so beautiful and stunning. The countryside there of Shropshire Hills also looks magnificent. You live in a beautiful place. Love that water fall, and I see some real live Lampi Bampi’s hanging out with you too.

Lisa, those round shades look so cool, they look familiar from one of your posters from the past. Mona looked so cute hanging upside down off that branch. It all looked so wonderful, really enjoyed seeing these, thanks again! I can see why you are planning on returning to Shropshire for more camping/hiking.

  20. Does anyone in your family ever take a bad picture??? Gorgeous scenery, gorgeous subjects. Who’s that young chic that Rudi’s hanging around with? (Just kidding, Michaela’s looking great!) Thanks for bringing us along for another adventure.

  21. The Shropshire Hills are where I grew up – you’ve captured the scenery beautifully. Clearly your Dad was in good form with his antics. Perhaps that is why the sheep look a bit bemused.

  22. If you guys decided to do a side hustle, it would be as photojournalists. I so glad you take so many shots of the country side. I never realized how beautiful the British countryside is. Maybe ya’ll could go to Cornwall sometime, I know that is really beautiful from watching Doc Martin, and Poldark on PBS. Peace be.

  23. Nice pictures. Beautiful scenery. Are the sheep and horses running free or are they fenced in? Maybe a farm. Looks like a nice place to relax and unwind.

  24. Fabulous photo’s, in lovely scenery. However, you two and papa Rudi need to take a leaf out of Michaela’s book and get some proper hiking boots ha ha.

  25. Extremely beautiful place, the Shropshire hills. I also liked the sheep that posed for pictures. I hope they were paid scale. -:)
The tall waterfall was magnificent. I know everyone had a great time.
Over 30 years ago, my wife and I hiked into a local park. We got lost and couldn’t find our way back to the car. They actually had a gate at this park that was closed when the park closed. We got to the gate with 2 minutes to spare. Too close for comfort. Thanks for sharing these photos.

    1. Hi Roy,
I knew some folks years ago who came very close to getting gates locked behind them in a cemetery. It was a close call, haha.
      Bobby S.

  26. Hi Ladies,
This is such a cool place. Thanks for taking us along.
Love seeing all the animals and your new Tesla ❤️ 😆
You are correct, I do enjoy these posts
Looks like everyone had a wonderful time.
    Best always
    Rick Ross

  27. Great pictures. I live about 15 minutes by road from there. Love walking on the Shropshire hills and usually start from Carding Mill Valley. Looks like you had nice warm weather that day too!

    1. On Any Other Day, Phil, you might have been there at the same time as those Wagner women, oh, and Rudi and Michaela, too!

  28. Beautiful gallery – thank you for sharing your family hiking experience! Such vivid, breathtaking landscapes and scenery! With the great photography work, I almost felt like I was there 🙂

  29. Yes time for Spring, we have had along winter here in Nebraska.
Gorgeous pictures of you and your family.
    Very Beautiful area for hiking.
Reminds me of our family hiking in the Beautiful Blackhills of South Dakota.
Can’t wait to go back there for some more fun hiking.
Thanks for reminding me of those wonderful memories.

    1. Allen Tork…. The Black Hills of South Dakota.! I grew up in Rapid City! I was there last week during the blizzard…. It was still beautiful. Thanks for the reminder.!

  30. Those hills remind me of when I was in England. Beautiful rolling countryside. But what’s that light in the sky??!? Oh that’s right, it was summer. You get sunlight then.

We had 82/28 degrees here yesterday. Summer’s coming…

  31. Thank you for sharing with us! Such wonderful photos and such a lovely place to visit. Looks like a good time and great pictures of Pa Rudi and Michaela! Love the John Lennon Sunglass Lisa!! Mona great photo’s of you just chilling and having fun with Lisa. Hugs and Love from Bill and Maddie Isenberg Huge fans from Pittsburgh PA USA

  32. Andrew beat me to it.
Shropshire Hills just outside of Wales.
    Gorgeous scenery.

    Here’s a question ladies.
What is your favorite hill country between Wales-Shropshire and the Austrian Alps?

  33. Shrophire/Welsh border some of my favourite English/Welsh countryside. It has a really ancient feel to it in places. Offas dyke cuts across the area which was built in the 700s to seperate King Offa’s Anglo Saxon kingdom of Mercia from Wales

  34. Thx again for the smiles you bring to all of us every Friday. Great batch of photos!

Genesis of the Beatles first #1 The Beatles took to the stage of Shrewsbury’s Granada Theatre back in February 1963.
“The bands travelled to Shrewsbury from York, where they’d played the night before. On the coach ride to Shropshire, The Beatles passed around lyrics to a new song, called From Me To You.”

  35. I’ve been watching re-reruns of a UK TV show called … ” Escape To The Country ” and it’s about couples looking to retire/move & find/buy/rent properties to the rural countryside in areas of Wales, Northern Ireland, Shrophire , etc.. I think I’ve seen some ” familiar ” territories & landmarks -ahem–that you all have filmed video locations at/for & hiking , etc….

I love these #KodakKeeperGems here…Yes the Great Outdoors & You …All are so very intertwining and complimentary with each other , it just works , you pick intuitively the best places to seek the creative inspiration , relaxation & Rejuvenation to recharge and just purely benefit for the overall good it does health/wellbeing wise.
Thankyou for sharing these photos, enjoyed viewing them, felt like I was alongside there with you all on the adventures . 🤘🏻

  36. This shows us that Summer is not to far today. In fact, it is in the mid 70s (around 23 Celsius) today in Western New York State. High School baseball game against my Alma Mater, so today is just awesome!

Enjoyed the pictures; the happiest MLT photos are when the family is together. It has to be fun to escape from the studio, and the Gretch and Ricky guitars. However, I have a feeling the ride home is full of singing melodies and harmonies!

That poor doggie in the fifth photo needs a few good meals. Nothing beats a chubby pooch!

  37. Loved the miniature flowers. So delicate and perfect. Very beautiful country. Would love to see that in person. Thanks for ‘taking us along’ by sharing and thanks for the smiles. 🙂
