  1. Hello Mona and Lisa:

In my humble opinion “Two of Us” is the signature MonaLisa Twins song. Despite not being an original, it just describes the two of you perfectly.

However, you need my favorite original. My favorite is “That’s Life” followed by “Dreams”. The music for each is so unique and the lyrics are…outstanding!

I enjoy the songs so much I have the lyrics both for “That’s Life” and “Dreams” hanging in my classroom. Many of my high school students have read them and have asked for the songs to be played in class. Of course I complied!

Best wishes on the completion of the album, which should be named “The Many Faces of Mona”.

  2. Hello i am Frank from the Netherlands. I really like “While my guitar gently weeps”. I saw your video make at the Covern Club. It make my orde your CD’s and to become member.

  3. Being new to the group I have to say that my current favorite is One More Time. It brings you back to a fun era and the video portrays the fun. Happy days and more!

  4. Ok, but I’ll have to list two songs, because I cannot decide between the two. Close to You and Sweet Lorraine are my two favorites of your original music, and here’s why: Close to You, because when I first saw the title, I immediately thought of the Carpenters song Close to You, which was my favorite song when it came out in 1969/70. As I played your Close to You for the first time, I was instantaniously both disappointed and delighted at the same time, and now I have two favorite songs called Close to You!

As for Sweet Lorraine, first, it is in a minor key, and minor chords go straight through to my very soul when I hear them. It also tells a story about life as a young woman, and how difficult it can be to decipher at times. And, my first crush as a teenager was a young lady named Lorraine. Lastly, because, as I think I heard one of you say once, it’s just a little bit naughty!

I see that the drawing date for this contest will be September 18, 2021, which coincidentally also happens to be my 66th birthday. I’ve seen your drawings, and I know winners are chosen at random, but it sure would be a terrific birthday present to be chosen for this prize!
    Deidre (Dee) Darnell

  5. my all time favourite of yours has to be “June” always has been from the very first time I heard it. Always loved hearing it done live at your Cavern gigs too. But I do love “Still a friend of mine”.

  6. My favorite original MLT song is “All I Want Christmas to Be”, because my mother’s side of the family were from Germany and their celebration of Christmas was very much as you describe it in your beautiful song.

  7. I can’t answer. An I will not.
How could I make a choice? A same song has a studio version, a concert version, a duo session, should I make a choice with the video clip?
And that’s not the worst : after choosing a song the winner will have to choose a photo !!!
    That’s impossible.
?Why not asking wich twin sisters we prefer?

And in addition there is cheating. You have removed “Alone” from your website.

  8. “This Boy” First song I heard yaul sing. Your harmony and voicing mesmerized me. Great! I actually found myself liking yaul version better than the Beatles. The “girl” voices and unique resonance added so much. I was shooooocked at myself to find someone like, or better than the Beatles version.
I was emotionally impressed that I wanted to support yaul, bought the membership, got the signed mugs. Wow! Also, I was 10 in 1964, my sister and aunt went to the concert in New Orleans, Louisiana. They have the signed Beatles picture, bought for five bucks. I was around then and it is amazing the mass hysteria! I saw both Beatles movies and the girls were screaming outside the theater before the movies, screaming inside the whole movie, and screaming outside the theater when the movie was over! No exaggerating. The feelings then were a massively overwhelming experience. Their feelings were so intense, the only way to express it was to scream because they couldn’t control the emotion. You can see this in all the Beatles live concerts. Nothing has ever been that exciting, including worldwide. I was a lot less crazy and more shy. So, “This Boy” relived that emotion when I heard yaul sing “This Boy”. With great heartfelt thanks!!

  9. Orange Album – “Still a friend of mine” Of your originals, it is the one I pull up most often. Relaxing and makes me think of old friends. It is also great song to fly too.

    Love Life, All is Groovy!

  10. I’ve thought about this for weeks and I’ve decided to confess – my favorite MLT original is All I Want Christmas to Be
The harmonies and melody and lyrics and instrumental arrangements are just perfect. And the video is so perfect with my two most lovely favorites singing in a winter wonderland and showing their childhood Christmss videos. I admit I listen or watch almost every week- and to me there’s nothing wrong with a little MLT Christmas anytime

  11. Hi Mona and Lisa!

As many other MLT club members have said, it’s so difficult to pick out just one main favorite Mona Lisa Twins original song because I love so many of them. But, if I have to pick just one in order to try to win a signed picture of the two of you, I am going to go with When We’re Together. It’s one of those songs that gets into my head and I sing it or hum it for hours without a pause. I love the melody. The lyrics are fun. It’s a really fresh, bouncy tune that always keeps me in a good mood. Your singing and playing are great! This song is fresh and alive and I love it. Please keep them coming.

  12. I tried and I tried and there was no way I could pick a favorite but That’s Alright as I love them all. If there’s a will there is a way so ended up picking my favorite song title- “When We’re Together” because when you are together you create genuine MAGIC! 🙂

  13. “Still A Friend Of Mine” is my favorite MLT original, combination of the instrumention, harmonies, and the lyrics about acceptance. I think what adds to the attraction of the song is its originality – doesnt sound like Beatles, or Spoonful, or Stones, it is you ladies, period.

  14. How to pick when each time I listen to your original songs I have a different favorite song. Still A Friend of Mine come up most of the time. so is that my pick.

  15. As just about everybody what degree it’s impossible to pick a favorite like someone said it’s like trying to pick a favorite child how’s yours but there are several that I am very fond of over others and my choice today is Count On Me.

  16. “ONCE UPON A TIME” is one because i am from that era. But I have to give a vote for “WAITING FOR THE
WAITER “,because of Mona’s guitar playing, the mood and blusey feel of the tune. But again you ladies
have a lot of good material you can be proud of.Keep up the good work.

  17. I can’t really say that I have ONE favourite MLT song – there are so many great ones to choose from. But one of my favourites is definitely “In It For Love”. It spoke to me right away when I listened to “ORANGE” for the first time. I like its jazzy kind of sound, I like how it’s just short and sweet, the words simple yet deep. Some songs can say it all in just two minutes…

  18. Dearest Ones:
Your most overlooked original track has to be “June”. From Lisa’s hauntingly beautiful acoustic chords to Mona’s tasty drum fills,
this tune has it all…..Ringo never gave a song more than it needed; and
neither does Mona. A real 60’s track that leaves the listener with a feeling of hopefulness that the two lovers will soon reunite. ……… : ) Bill

  19. OMG this is so-ooo difficult to choose. Like trying to choose one’s fave Beatles’ track – there are SO MANY!!! So it’s the video versions calling the shots for me which encapsulate everything about you for all of us … I Want To Kiss You goes without saying, and One More Time is just so much fun but I’m going for……. Still A Friend Of Mine – as we all are together. Sung and produced so beautifully, even ABBA would not ever, back then or now, have been able to perform this better.
Hey- we should ALL receive a signed photo!!!
    Staying Groovy!

  20. Can I change my mind? Nothing Is In Vain has become my favourite today! It has blown my mind today, I should have waited a week or so to enter but your music is so good it’s hard to pick a favourite because of moods etc!

  21. That’s Life

The struggles , the issues of life. It has a most positive up beat lyric’s with life’s negative adventures. The song is of hope going through different times.

  22. The gem in your collection of wonderful tunes is : Still A Friend Of Mine !!

the song is beautifully harmonised, expertly produced and a has a poignant message that chills you (in a nice way).

The song its self is brilliant and remarkable but the video is something else, it touches places so close and personal it almost as if your in the room with you.

It shines of a full professional production that any major label would have given a big budget too, and you did it all in house – with Family – Tremendous.

Music may be your love – but family is what makes you

    P:)

  23. ‘Once upon a time’ is my favourite original. It just makes me feel happy when I listen to it. I love the harmonica. I love the lyrics. I love it all. It’s a very emotionally powerful song that eases the weight in my chest when times are tough because the song reminds you that things will be ok.

Love you girls. Please keep making and playing great music. Xx

    Peace

  24. My very most favourite MLT song is “When We’re Together”. I have it playing right now as I write! It’s such a happy song … “When we’re together, I know that everything’s okay …” Just right!

  25. Hi Girls – it is a very difficult choice from all of your great songs – like being asked to pick your favourite child!!!
But I think I have to go with “That’s Life” as it was your first song and video that I found on Facebook and which encouraged me to buy Orange straight away. Besides it is a really great song so has to be my choice – Tim xxx

  26. I really like your covers they are old songs but you guys make them sound fresh. Your original stuff is off the charts. I really love your original stuff the most. I received my CDs about a few weeks ago and listen to them all of the time. It was a tuff decision for me to pick “a” favorite
but the winner is I Wanna Kiss You. The song is so full of energy and the video is great ! I find myself listening to it repeatedly. I can’t wait for more original stuff. Thanks for the great music.
    Bye bye.

  27. Dear Mona and Lisa,

If I were to follow direction, I would simply state that “All I Want Christmas To Be” leads the pack. The main reason is it’s masterful composition. I’m always interested in composing and how things – music, notes, words, colors, come together. This is a shining example of what I see as your strongest and most underrated skills.

“The Wide Wide Land” is magical and comes together with utmost purity. It’s simplicity (of structural composition, not in the arrangements, which are subtlety complex) and honesty is breathtaking. Three chords and the truth.

“Once Upon A Time” is a timeless piece. The words are so perfect that they are current today in “unprecedented” times, but they could have been written for these Corona days. Musically it’s enthralling.

“Count On Me” is to me one of those apparently simple, but deceptively complex songs that goes straight to the heart. The Beatles did this very well and Paul has always strived and been proud of achieving this. Here you do it smoothly and effortlessly. Perfection. It would shine even on an Album like Rubber Soul. Like the bold sound of “Nothing Is In Vain” is at home in “Revolver”, probably outshining a few of tracks there.

“All About Falling In Love” in another one bubbling to the top among heavy competition.

OK, I’ll stop now, before I list the whole catalog. Before I go, I have to mention “Club 27”, because you nail the genre, you take Hendrix to task. Creme de la Creme. Another aspect of yours that you can only find in The Beatles, which is taking a genre and doing it as good or better than the best. Of course “Sweet Lorraine” has a special place in my heart, “Still A Friend of Mine” is hauntingly beautiful.

    I’ll stop now.

    Thank you! ??

    Tomás

  28. Hi, My favourite original MLT song in Nothing Is In Vain. The initial few bars with that unexpected change of speed really grabs your attention. I first heard the song during a difficult time, and the lyrics really struck a chord with me. I love the tune, and it would probably have been my favourite anyway, at any time of my life. What really grabs me though are the lyrics, and the feeling of hope. Let us all hope that there is sunshine after rain.

  29. Hello Ladies and Gent, My favourite original song of yours has to be – Once Upon A Time! It is both upbeat yet melancholic, reminding us of a better time in our musical past but also hinting at the possibilities that are still available thankfully through your music! It is a great performance, arrangement and production with a great accompanying video, thanks!

  30. To narrow it down to one is very hard! But pushed I would say “Won’t you listen now”. It is a light feeling song in a style of 60’s and I love that era. Video excellent as well, your dad does some brilliant cameos. Stay groovy!!

  31. It’s almost impossible to pick just one “favorite” but I’ll go with “Wide Wide Land” because it’s the favorite right now.

  32. it may sound funny but i like all i want Christmas to be. it is a simple but pretty melody . while your video showed your childhood Christmas memories i felt it was your wish to always celebrate Christmas through a child’s eyes.

  33. It is actually impossible to choose just one favorite song, there are far too many sensitive lyrics and wonderful melodies.
But if I ask myself which song I definitely don’t want to miss, then it is without a doubt ‘The Wide Wide Land’.

  34. Hi MonaLisa Twins,

Favorite original song for me is “Still A Friend Today”…hard to pick as I pretty much love them all…covers and originals. Pretty much how I feel about The Beatles, the band that guided me through my life and still is.
Thanks for the refill. CHEERS!…Carry On…
    Yours,
    William S. Harris

  35. The song that truly stole my heart was “All I Want Christmas to Be.”

Anytime a song can transport us to a wonderful place in time and bring back not one but several “Memories For Keeps” as well as a time when “It Felt Like the World Was So Right” from “All I Want Christmas to Be” is the essence of superb songwriting, brilliant performance and excellent arrangements.

As always, “Thanks for the Memories.”

  36. I think my favorite is “Nothing is in Vain”
Music has helped me through some rough times. (Yours especially)
    The lines
    “There’s sunshine after rain”
    and
    “There’s pleasure after pain”
Struck a chord with me, and I wanted to believe it.
I held on to that thought, and things have gotten better.
    Thanks you my friends

  37. Well “That’s life” has always been my favourite since the first time I heard it, it ticks so many boxes I’d say it is one of my favourite songs of all time. My second fav is “sweet Lorraine ” but it’s hard to say its better than any of your other songs.
I’m just hoping that during the lock down you have had the creative juices flowing and original album number 3 is well on its way. Will we find ourselves with a new fav soon?
Cheers for keeping me sane ladies.
    Chris

  38. That is such a tough question! I had to think very hard about it as I love them all!

If only can choose one it will be – Won’t You Listen Now … why i love it as follows:

    1. the use of harmonica in the song and the solo – wish it was longer!
    2. As an introvert, I can totally relate to the song!
    3. Because Mona is the lead character in the video!

  39. After I listened to When I’m 64 in June of 2014 the next song I listened to and the first MLT original was JUNE! This song is still one of my favorites along with the handwritten lyrics I received last Christmas that I will always cherish.

  40. The first video I ever saw was “Drive My Car.” That remains my favorite because it shows you both at your utmost best. And, I love the …. “beep beep, yea.”

  41. One More Time. Not only did I love the song from the first time I heard it, I was totally blown away by the video. Still being a (very old) mod at heart, for me it captures the essence of the 60’s perfectly and brings back some great memories. If the song was released back then I’m sure it would have given the Beatles a run for their money for the No1 spot. Staying groovy ?

  42. Too many songs were a tie for me when I tried to sort them out for a favorite. So I incorporated the corresponding video for the songs. This of course eliminated some of the best (for which there is no accompanying video yet), but I had to find a way to choose. My choice is I Don’t Know Birds That Well. I song itself is beautiful and the video brings even more beauty. It’s one of those songs/video that just makes you feel good.

  43. That`s a difficult one. Favourites are The WWL, In It For Love and Still A Friend Of Mine. That one is probably my all time favourite, a beautiful melody and arrangement, great lyrics and vocals. It is just a perfect song, and very touching

  44. Hello Mona and Lisa, My god such a hard song to say, everyone of your songs ( original ) mean something to me and to choose one is hard, So with that being said and believe me not that this one out shines the rest? But Count On Me from your Orange Album would be the one. Reason is simple, I can always count on you both to lift my day and spirits. My life has taken so many spins in the last few years and no matter what I have been faced with? That song helps me get thru. And I do take your advice…..STAY GROOVY!! God Bless you both
Bill Isenberg A Huge Fan from Pittsburgh Pa USA

  45. Close To You.

Love them all, but if I had to pick one it would be Close To You from Orange ? terrific song with the fantastic harmonies and musical talent we come to expect and enjoy from the fabulous Mona and Lisa.

  46. That’s Life

Very nice melody into which the singing fits harmoniously. Timeless and yet somehow nostalgic.

  47. I Don’t Know Birds That Well

I first heard the Twins during the summer 2016 or 2017. I started to listen to the covers especially “Two of Us” before trying the originals. Utah’s summer used to be horrible for me. After working from 8 to 6, I had to walk 45 mins to get home. Around 7, the sun will start to dim and that’s when I usually lay in bed and play the album.
Something about the lyrics or the ukulele made me think of the track sounds as a “bowl of fresh water.” That’s how I’ve always described the song. Maybe it’s because I always played it after work around nighttime. Although I don’t play it as much as I used to, it remains my favorite.

  48. It changes. Recently, probably because of last year’s Woodstock 50th anniversary buzz, “Once Upon A Time” has been a favorite. It very accurately evokes the optimism and ideals of the time, as well as that unique folk/psychedelic sound of the period, as well as serving as a gentle reminder that the promises we made were not, for whatever reason, kept. Beautiful, both musically and lyrically, with one eye focused accurately at the past, and another eye cast hopefully toward the future. Nicely done, everyone!

  49. When I first heard “Close To You”, I was thrust back in time 40 years, but without the normal queasy stomach that usually accompanies a rift in the time-space continuum and coincidentally, the realization of having missed an opportunity to augment your own happiness. A song that evokes a melancholy memory is no less significant than one that reminds of a happy time.

  50. Count On Me

This is one of those songs everyone can relate to for different reasons or associate it with moments of their lives and make it their own. I think we all have songs we relate to like this.

I first heard Count On Me when I was in my car. As soon as I heard the chorus this memory showed up like it happened yesterday. My wife is a breast cancer survivor. Seven years ago, she went through several surgeries, intense chemotherapy, multiple hospital stays, and ugh…the list goes on. It was a few years of true hell.

I remember a couple of times when I was driving us to her third or fourth doctor appointment that day, she would look over at me and profess her love for me and how glad she was that she had me to take care of her. I would try to act kool, meaning not look scared, and say, “Everything’s going to be fine. You can do this. I can take care of everything else. I love you. You can do this. We do what we gotta do. It’s all going to work out fine.” It was my nervous way of saying you can count on me. I always tried to keep it together even though my head was spinning with fear and worry. She was the patient, not me. I always joked for better or for worse, right?

I thank God everyday she is still here to run me around. Whenever we talk about it, I remind her how long ago it was. We have been married for seventeen years. She is awesome. Each day with her is a true blessing.

I cannot thank you enough for sharing this beautiful song. Whenever I listen to this song, this memory comes shining through. And now I think I will always have this “first listen” memory, also. Kinda kool. A memory within a memory. As time will go by….

Count On Me is a Timeless Classic that we’ll be playing for our grand kids.

    JP & Marlo

p.s. The Great Escape lyric makes us smile. That is the name of a Six Flags amusement park north of here LOL

  51. If you had asked for my favorite of any of the Twin’s tunes (“It Ain’t Me Babe”), or my favorite Twins video (“June”), the question would have been easier.

I have a set of your original songs that I listen to frequently, and I like them all, but based on how frequently I listen to them, my favorite original song at this time would have to be “The Wide Wide Land”. The lyrics are a special, meaningful poem about something that eventually strikes so many all of us, directly or indirectly. The production on this song, as with most others of yours, is great. I really like the harmony mixed with the twin guitars in the background. The video is also one of my favorites, so perhaps that influenced my decision. In fact, most of my favorite Twin’s videos are original tunes videos, perhaps a “Favorite Video and Why” question on another day(?).

  52. wow hard to choose but l so relate to The Wide, Wide Land it resonates with me especially during this time. staying groovy much love and light from Australia

  53. Easy one for me to choose. It was a song that grabbed me as soon as I heard it and it is “Still A Friend of Mine”. The reason……I can tell the song is straight from the heart and is about someone you respect and care about deeply. I like the intro by Mr. Rudi. When he started on the piano, I could tell we were in for something special. The video to it is done so well, too. It gives the song the “class” it deserves.

  54. Close To You, 2020 version,
just pipping All About Falling In Love 2020 version.
I honestly thought this was an early John Lennon song for a week or so.
Both brilliant songs. Impressive maturity in your songwriting, particularly with the latter song written in your teens 😀

  55. Tough to choose only one. I could have gone with 5 or 6 and made a good argument for any of them. I’m picking ‘June’ from that shortlist. You guys are brilliant singers individually, but I was originally drawn to MLT for the harmony. IMO you do it as well or better than anyone in pop music. And of all the originals you’ve written, there is no better example of Mona and Lisa harmony than ‘June’. With the exception of a couple vocal breaks by Lisa, it’s just a glorious blend of your voices from beginning to end. And it’s a darn pretty tune to boot. Seattle Bob

  56. It is really hard to pick a favourite because I love them all! My first favourite was “I Don’t Know Birds That Well” because it takes me back to a carefree time in my life when I, too, loved to sit in trees and sing to the moon. I also love “Still a Friend of Mine” for its beautiful melody, harmonies, and lovely orchestration.

  57. Can I enter more than once? I’m new here and have only heard each song a half a dozen times, so what I pick today may not be what I pick tomorrow. I believe I heard “This Love” by Taylor Swift a dozen times before it became my favorite of hers.
Anyway, today, I’m going with “Club 27”. It’s one I’d really like to see live especially if Mona plays the drums. I’ve noticed that, except for their first concert, we rarely get to see her on the drums. “Club 27” has one of the most distinctive drum tracks of your originals and since we only have an audio version I assume you recorded Mona playing that track. If you’ve got any video coverage of this, please, please share it. I’d also like to see the guitar progression Lisa plays at the end.

  58. My absolute favourite MLT song would have to be “The Wide, Wide Land”. When my mom was inflicted with vascular dementia and her memory started to fade and she was in a constant fog and state of anxiety, one of the few things that made her happy were our weekend drives out in the wide, wide open countryside. She’d look around at the beautiful scenery unfolding in front of us as we drove along and smile and make joyful sounds. For people who suffer from dementia, wide open scenery and images of a smooth landscape and absence of obtrusive detail I think has a soothing and calming effect. When I heard “The Wide, Wide Land” for the first time I could immediately connect with it. It said all I felt during those moments with my mom, so heartfelt, so moving and such beautiful melody and singing. This song is profoundly comforting because I could feel the emotions expressed are so real and true, and comes from the same place I was at that only people who went through the same painful journey with a loved one suffering this horrible disease can truly empathize and relate to. Hearing this song my heart always goes out to the Wagner’s who endured the pain of losing their grandmother/mother and memories of my own mom who was so brave to endure so much that happened to her.

They say time heals all wounds, but absence makes the heart grow fonder. Indeed! “The Wide, Wide Land” is such a wonderful gift that keeps on giving. It’s always there to console and comfort. Thank you Mona and Lisa!!!

  59. My favourite is Waiting For The Waiter. Sultry, seductive vocals. Great Guitar. Bluesy, evocative song that carries me away to another time & place. Like the rest of your originals timeless & fresh at the same time.

  60. “Sweet Lorraine” is the winner of my Maxwell’s Silver Hammer Award. I love the cognitive dissonance of merrily singing along with a song about a grisly murder.

  61. Hello ladies,
I think I would have to say that a fav of mine is…I Wanna Kiss You, for a few reasons. One is that it is a fun song to listen to. Also watching the video it shows just how much fun you both have singing it. This song also shows how early Beatles have influenced you in some of your musical style and being a long time Beatles fan I absolutely love this.
    Plus kissing is fun…lol
Stay groovy girls and keep on rocking!!!!

  62. Crazy choice, I suppose, but I’m picking the song too strong to hear: “Close to You.”

I couldn’t believe it when I started bawling about halfway through my first listen. The sense of loss was enormous. So far, I haven’t dared to go for a full second listen. I’m looking forward to it when the time is right.

  63. my favorite MLT original would be “Still A Friend Of Mine”, the melody and the meaningfulness of the lyrics make it a stand out, and I have shared it with a friend who is a music therapist. As for neMt fav is a tie between “Dreams” and “That’s Life”, honorable mention for “The Wide Wide Land” and “When We’re Together”.

  64. Has to be Please Please me, as a 71 year old,l remember getting this single and album and being so excited to get them back home to put on my record player. They took my breath away. It was a special moment, it was a time I have never forgot, it was a song that stayed with me, for the rest of my life. The girls have not only brought back the memories, but re-excited my feelings, and for a 70 year old that’s gotta be good????

  65. That’s an easy one for me. Once Upon a Time is my favorite original MLT song. So many things to like about it – super harmonies, groovy and positive lyrics with groovy music to match. The best thing about it? It lasts twice as long as the average song! I really like the full arrangement, complete with 1960’s style riffs. Perfect!

  66. Hello Mona & Lisa –
I love many of your original songs. They are invariably quite good.
But I’d say my favorite is “Still A Friend of Mine”.
For many reasons – including that it’s beautiful, the presentation is marvelous, and the lyrics are very strong.
But this holds a special place in my heart because it describes so extremely well my favorite candidate from the 2020 United States presidential race – namely, Tulsi Gabbard. It’s amazing. You almost could have written it for her. Tulsi spoke the truth as she saw it, no matter how unpopular this made her. She’s genuine and authentic – the Israelite in whom there is no guile, as it were – with the sole focus of how best to serve others. I shared your song on a Tulsi Gabbard Facebook group and others saw the connection. I played it for my eldest son and he said “I get it.” (Then he said, “Who is this group? I want to hear more from them.”)
    Thanks

  67. First, it’s very difficult for me to choose an original MLT song., I love them all., ” Wide, Wide Land, Still a friend of MIne, Nothing is in Vain for example are masterpieces, and not forgetting your first song the delicate and swee “Alone”. by the way a Duo Session of Alone would be great., but
I’ve to choose just one.. so I choose ” COUNT ON ME “., this song made my soul vibrate as soon as I heard it. If I’m lucky to be the winner I’ll have a hard work to choose the photo.. Thanks
    dear girls.. and Stay groovy.

  68. I love “The Wide, Wide Land” . It’s an amazing song first time I heard it I loved it. Love the way the song builds love the melody. Almost a Beatles song.

For covers I love so many. San Francisco, California Dreaming, Starman, Bus Stop, If I fell, While my guitar gently weeps.

    Love you guys

  69. Really, just one?!! So many of your Originals are powerful to the point they transport me to various places emotionally -places I truly love to go. That’s why it’s so difficult to pick just one. But there is one of these places that I actually consider precious. So precious that I preserve it for times when I can prepare myself, knowing that I will emerge a stronger, wiser and more peaceful person. “Count On Me” is that very special place. A place made unique by the fusion of the organic music, lyrics and artistic performance that only MLT can put together.

  70. For me it has to be ” Dreams “. Such a beautiful, peaceful song and of course those exquisite MLT harmonies. I just close my eyes and drift away……

  71. I resisted the originals for far to long but once I started down that path last fall, the MLT originals quickly became my favorites to listen to. Picking one is not a fair choice when there is easily 10 in contention. “I Don’t Know Birds That Well” and “No More Worries Company” always make me smile. “Still A Friend Of Mine” is such an exquisitely beautiful work of art that almost never fails to bring tears to my eyes and I don’t even like John! But if push came to shove and I could only have one MLT original to listen to it would be “That’s Life”. I love these lyrics and the harmony on the line “Coming up roses” encapsulates the beautiful thing I love the most about the Twins. It’s the reason I joined the MTL Club to help keep the promise of more beautiful things to come!

  72. Hi Ladies,
I guess the song that I love most of your Original Songs is Club 27.
It stirs up so many Artists that lost their lives so early. I can only imagine what they would have accomplished.
Most were just starting to touch the music that would shape their lives.
I can’t imagine what style or type of music would have been the next major influence in the music industry. Who knows, you might have been on a completely track by now. Though I doubt you would stray far from the 60s and Your own Beatlemania. Its so hard to argue with all that success.
I will say, Alone is a very very close second. Its speaks of the emotions that all of us feel at certain times in our lives at one point or another. Its almost inconceivable that you all wrote this when you were 11-13. Brilliant in every sense.

  73. Good Morning Ladies,
I enjoy all of your music. You put a “Twins Spin” on your covers, while maintaining the original feel of the song. All of your originals have a wonderful feel to them. Most of them capture the spirit of the 60’s, which was a wonderful time. For that reason I have to say my favorite is
“Once Upon A Time”. The video brings us back to the days of Woodstock, great music and good feelings; difficult to find sometimes today. Thank you for all that you do in keeping that spirit alive. My best to all of Team MLT.

  74. Hello Ladies, actually I have two favorites!!! Still a Friend of Mine I think is the best of your songs musically. Don’t get me wrong I think musically as song writers, you are among the best not only of today’s era but from the 40’s forward to today. (I’m not much of a student of music before the 40’s). There is just something with the way the music follows the lyrics of the song, that if I never heard the lyric I probably would have gotten close just by listening to the music.
The best song lyrics in my opinion goes to The Wide Wide Land. I could hear right away how personal this song was for you. Then it’s story line sort of settled into my soul like the best of the best songs do. While it is a beautiful tribute to your grandmother. (It sounded to personal and the video, made it seem like it was for your grandmother.) I think this song can be found in most everyone’s life in some way shape or form. Help them heal and make peace with their past.

  75. This is a tough one but as usual I’ll pick “June”! It was either “When we’re together” or “June”. Love them all but “June” just makes me so happy! Now where’s my luck rabbit’s foot….

  76. Hi Ladies!

I was lucky enough to have become a follower of you and your music after your first original album and accompanying videos were already in place and released. Because of this I was able to really get to “know” you and I couldn’t get enough. As I was becoming an MLT maniac I shared you with all of my friends and family and out of all of them my very close friend Jay became as big of a fan as I was. Not long after Jay was diagnosed with Kidney cancer and had to have one of his kidneys removed. He since has had to go in again to have a reoccurrence removed and next month he is going to go to have checked what seems to possibly be a third time around.

The reason why I bring this up is that his theme song and thus my favorite original song is “Nothing is in Vain” off of “When we’re Together”. The positive spirit of the song is so reassuring and uplifting and definitely reminds us that there always is sun after rain. He holds this song so close he was watching the video over and over on his phone as he was waiting to go in for his second surgery. I loved getting that text telling me so that morning. The ‘tuning” of the guitar to begin the song also reminds us both of how fragile life is and how fortunate enough that when our bodies go “out of tune” it is possible for them to once again come back to where they should be. Of all your originals this one is the first I go to during a tough time – thank you so much for creating that important place!

  77. My favorite original song of yours is “Close To You”- The melody is very beautiful and your performance, especially those angelic harmonies, are superb. It´s great to notice that the “Duo Sessions” version stand equal with the pop classics on that album. I played the album to my friend and asked him to tell which songs aren´t covers. He was ready to name “Close To You” a Beatles song. That tells something about the quality of that song.

  78. Count on Me. It is, for me, the perfect MonaLisa Twins song. While I love all of your music, originals and covers, and I’ve played most of it on my radio show, Count on Me strikes me in all the right places. Peace n love, you two!

  79. My favorite song is “Still a Friend of Mine” It’s simple and a beautiful melody with exceptional lyrics that tell a story. It’s done with heart, and stirs emotion.I listen to it often. Although I love your covers, songs like this give me faith that there is still exceptional music out there. Thank You both for sharing your talent with us.

  80. Very tough to choose only one favorite original. I love them all…

I guess I’ll say “Wide Wide Land” – means so much to me because of the sentiment and I was very close with my grandparents – and the MLT superb harmonies

    Thanks for the contest!

    Best and groovy blessings,
    Frank

  81. “The Wide, Wide Land” , resonates truly with me because of what happened to both my late parents respectively…with their strokes, though Mom’s outcome was far more devastating than Dad’s, she no longer knew life as she previously had known and tragic, at just going into her 51st year. Dad’s was bad, a few months after Mom’s passing, but he also had other health issues so his recovery was never fully, and also had other mini strokes, seizures thereafter and lived his last yrs in a longterm nursing home with dementia brought on by all those strokes/seizures, passed into his 75th year.

As for photo choice…eek, oh my goodness.. almost impossible.?.lol..all photos are fab… but I have a tie , just can’t decide, both equal to me :
The one of you both with the Canadian stuff I sent you, mugs, tea, t-shirts and cookies, Mona rocks the cookie holding…lol
While the other photo is from Once Upon Time, lying on the ground…!!

  82. Wow, hard to choose just one. But I’ll go (this morning) with “Once Upon a Time”. These days people need to be reminded there is an alternative: “Love was in the air and there was music everywhere”. What happened to that? Can we get it back?
