Skydiving – Photos

You might remember that last summer we had shared a video with you of us going skydiving for our 18th birthday in 2012 (rewatch it HERE). And only after going well into the photo albums of 2011 w
e rediscovered a lot of photos from the whole experience, too, and we don’t want you to miss out on them.

Of course we went up there together and both jumped, but for some reason it was only possible to have both videos AND photos for one of us. So since Lisa volunteered to jump first, she got dibs on the photos 🙂  The pics you see of Mona are stills that we have taken from the video of Mona’s jump. That’s why the quality isn’t that great, sorry about that.

The jump out of 4,000 m (2.4 miles) is something we will vividly remember until our last day, and to be able to share that with each other was the best birthday present we could have wished for!

Our life, from our career choice to our hobbies and achievements, has always been anything but boring, and while we cannot control everything in life, we will always continue to be open to adventure. 🙂

We hope you are having an adventurous day today!
Mona & Lisa

  1. I jumped out of a plane once. It was still on the runway but it was still scary! Just kidding! Loved the pics, you daredevils!

  2. Well ladies, was that the best date you’ve ever been on? Those guys seem to put a smile on your face or perhaps that’s what a panic face looks like ripping through the air at high speed. Who know’s, right? Just think if you could have shot it in 4K. A splendid time appears to have been had by all involved. Do you miss your youth? lol.

  3. Great pictures! Thank you for sharing. That looked like so much fun. Y’all looked so eager and excited! I know you have really great memories and pictures to reflect on. I’m so happy you were able to have that experience. And, even happier that you survived it and it is a wonderful memory. ?

  4. I would have stayed in the plane and watched?
My luck, I would have opened the Parachute in the plane, from being so nervous.
If I had somehow gotten out of the plane, my parachute would not have opened. ? ? ?
Thanks so much Ladies for sharing these awesome pictures. You looked like you were having the time of your life. ?❤

  5. They don’t make enough money or can never make enough money for me to do that. I’m really glad you girls survived it. Some people don’t. Be careful, not foolish. I could barely watch that video. It made me so nervous.

  6. Kudos on experiencing that thrill of a lifetime on your 18th Birthday, Indeed a Lifetime Gift to forever remember…Holy Cow….Lol…I’m almost wanting to have a panic/anxiety attack, just by looking at these photos, video…lol…Almost but thankfully not quite….lol
This is the one thing I’ll never ever tackle, just not for me to do, as I don’t enjoy heights, weak stomach, prone to panic/anxiety attacks, not very adventurous… but I don’t mind channeling the experience through you both here, Thankyou for sharing and giving all of us here the opportunity vto vicariously experience the thrill alongside you in this adventure …Awesome, Wow, Fab, Adrenaline Rush….WooHoo Groovy ….!!

  7. Here are some pictures of the koolest girls In the world. These pictures are great. Was it a big relief to touch the ground, or did you wish it took longer ? Your free fall faces are beautiful. No fear at all.

This reminds me of a Pink Floyd song called “Fearless”
“And as I rise above the treeline and the clouds
I look down hearing the sound of the things you said today”

I am kinda jealous, because I have always wanted to try skydiving. The free fall seems so breathtaking. The adrenaline rush must be crazy.

Years ago some coworkers and I were looking into a local company that did tandem jumps. While we in the planning stages, looking up the phone number, weeding out the scaredy-cats, and testing each other’s courage, the company went out of business. I can’t remember why they closed, but I thought it was a sign. Some day, somehow…maybe I should wait til I am older. Hey everybody, look at that old guy. He wants to try sky diving?

My part of that Pink Floyd song is, “Foolishly the idiot faced the crowd, smi-i-ling”

    Before the book closes….

  8. I had to go back and rewatch that skydiving video again before seeing these photos, and have to say these frame by frame pictures are just as impactful and more. I am sure only the select lucky few who have ever jumped out of an airplane at 4KM up can know what the exhilaration is like to jump out of a plane and free fall like that from that high up, but wow I can feel a little adrenaline from these photos. The short plane ride going up to 4 KM must have been the toughest part. Those several photos inside the plane as you guys were going up seem to capture that intensity well. Seeing them open the doors in the photos, I could feel more adrenaline. You’ve piqued my adventurous curiosity. Maybe a skydiving experience like that would be a great way to celebrate when this pandemic situation ends! Clear out those cobwebs. Thanks for taking us along on your skydiving adventure. It was exhilarating.
