Sommerszene Live Gig 2012 – Photos

We were invited to play the “Sommerszene Gänserndorf” on the 28th of July 2012. It was one of the bigger stages we had played up to that point, so naturally we were looking forward to that day for many weeks.

And it was great – despite the change of weather in the middle of the set 😉

It started off as a warm, sunny Summer evening and turned dark and thundery in the middle of the set, with a short rain shower to finish it all off. If you look closely you can see how the atmosphere slowly turns gloomy and our hair gets more and more messy as the wind picks up throughout the evening! 😉

The audience huddled together under umbrellas like real troopers, and thankfully the PA and guitar amps were covered from the rain so we could keep playing. It all made for an intimate, connected performance that will stay with us forever.

We were still only in our first year of live performing and soaking it all up like a sponge! It really was a perfect evening, despite the imperfections 🙂

After we were done at around 11pm we packed up and headed to yet another stage, but more on that on Friday …

See you then!

  1. Yes, what a very special experience. The rain may have bothered the photographer more than it did you, from the looks of things. 🌷🌷

  2. Enjoyed all the great photos of one of your live performances. Who knows when anyone will get a chance at taking some new ones, now that you are in your “studio years” phase. Such young, bright and energetic shots of you both. Hope you’re not getting 4-wall madness yet from all the indoor time. Things are starting to open back up here in Florida on a limited basis. Don’t know how many people are actually out and about but I’ll see later today since I have to get blood tests done and do some shopping. It’s been over 2 months since I’ve been staying at home with only a few ventures that were required. So lucky that I make my living as a home based business so I’m still at it everyday. But there has a been a 50% drop in sales for me so I have to think up more ways of selling my wares. Good thing I’m nearing retirement…….lol. If this is practice, it sucks. Stay safe as well as groovy everyone.

  3. Fantastic pictures! You can really feel the good vibrations happening. I’m sure the thunder and lightning just added to your performance and helped illuminate all your beauty and talent. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Great stage shots!. You all look so cool up there. The expressions, intensity captured as you played, can just imagine the energy, and fun of that pleasant warm summer evening as you rocked the audience with your music. Enjoy seeing all the different guitars from your arsenal, Mona rocking out with the now familiar John Lennon inscribed Epiphone, the Gretsch, Rickenbaaacker, Hofner bass, Lisa’s Lanakai Uke etc, Lisa’s beautiful flaming red hair blowing in the wind as the weather picks up. Magnificent musical artists at their craft creating excitement and moving people . Great to see a sneak shot of Michaela in the audience. Love seeing these! Thanks for sharing these exciting memories!

I like your phrase, “the perfect evening, despite the imperfections”. Reminds me of the makers of the famous Persian rugs. “Great craftsman took years to complete each rug, that involved thousands of knots, but they intentionally left one knot tied wrong, one flawed knot so the rug would not be perfect.” The imperfection accentuates the perfection so that it would be remembered. Great things seem to happen that way, more often than not.

  5. I just love seeing all these pictures of you in concert at any stage, on any stage. You look so natural and relaxed and having fun – you were born to sing/play/and perform. Thanks for the wonderful pictures!

  6. Something just so magical of an outdoor gig….it has its own vibe essence that you can’t quite get with an indoor venue….and weather roulette, Mother Nature style, just adds a bonus, no one got struck by lightening, or equipment blown up with power going off, so, that was a plus for you. It looked like quite then interesting outdoor festival to be at as in the crowd and performing….Music perseveres….Thankyou for sharing….The photos of it are well captured?☮?
