Our Trip To Ireland 2014 – Photos

Early in 2014 we went on a trip to the “green island” Ireland. Just us two, two guitars, two backpacks and a sense of adventure! We explored the music scene in Dublin and visited friends in Cavan who kindly took their time to show us around and make us feel at home in this beautiful country. We played our guitars all day and all night long, with other musicians joining in at every corner.

We played some pubs, clubs, on our own or with a make-shift band and even earned ourselves some free stays at the hotel and quite a few dinners by entertaining the crowds or busking for the many tourists on the streets of Dublin. The Irish LOVE their live music 🙂

We also visited some radio stations where we made friendships that last to this day.

Little did we know that our stay would get cut short by a call from Liverpool, and that we’d move there just a couple of weeks later without going back to Austria for quite some time … but that’s a story for another time 😉

Here are some photos from our time in Ireland!

  1. ???☘️?… Ah… My heritage… This wee Lady Leprechaun was smiling at the end of her Rainbow with your Pot-o-Pix that you’ve shared here… You must go back one day ??????❤️

  2. Ah, the Emerald Isle. Land of my paternal ancestors. Limerick and Tipperary. I sent my daughters there about 15 years ago and have yet to go myself. Typical. You certainly look like you enjoyed the Irish hospitality and love for music. Bluegrass music in America has it’s roots in Irish folk music. Grab your fiddle and your guitar, add an American banjo and you’re ready to cook. I hope you get back to Ireland again to soak up more of the music scene there. Hope you’ve developed enough antibodies against all the bugs you suffered from there.

  3. Really enjoyed seeing your Ireland trip: the gigs, people and places there. I can just imagine on Saint Patricks Day the sea of green clothes people wear everywhere would be quite the amazing site. That intro photo is very funny (a tasty looking donut like that would be good motivation for me too) 🙂 I would guess a Mona creation. My favorite picture is the one in the end, the big pooch hug! Curious who the mystery people with the paper bags over their heads were. Thanks for sharing these!
