When you click the little bell icon at the top of your screen you are able to see all your notifications. Any unread notifications will show up as an orange number next to the bell which will disappear once you click on the notification or mark it as “read”.
Some notifications also get sent as an email to your account email address.
General Notification Preferences:
If you click on your name in the top right corner and then select “Account” in the dropdown menu, you will reach your account settings. One of the subcategories there is “Notification Preferences”.
When you click “Notification Preferences” you will see an overview of all the events on the website that can trigger a notification. You can enable or disable notification for the Web (A notification in the corner of your screen) or through Email (A notification sent to your inbox) for each one.
At the bottom of the page, you also see an option called Enable Chrome Notifications. This only works in the Chrome browser but when enabled allows you to receive web notifications through your browser window, even when you’re not on this site.
Comment Notification Preferences:
With the way the MLT Club is set up, there are currently two different places where notification preferences can be set. Any notifications regarding comments (the comment section underneath posts like new videos etc.) are somewhere different than the general notification preferences. We have talked to developers and hope this will be unified soon.
For now, comment notification preferences can be changed by clicking on the bell icon at the top of the screen and then “View Notifications” at the bottom of the drop down. This will bring you to your “Unread Notifications” overview. At the top of that page, you can see a button called “Settings”.
When you click “Settings” you reach a page that lets you choose what notifications you want to receive concerning the comment section and all interactions there. Again, you can select to receive Web or Email notifications, or both. Click “Save” after you make any changes.
Wow these videos are really helpful, and all the customizations are really impressive to make the experience here as great as possible. Thanks for doing all this.
Very comprehensive set of options in this area. The only comment I have is that when someone comments on one of my posts I can get two items in the notifications bell. However if I click one of them to go to the post then only that one is marked as ‘read’ despite both notifications applying to the same posting. I have to manually clear the second one. Maybe its due to my settings as they were all ticked in the settings menu.
