Summertime in the UK 2014 – Photos
“Summer vibes” and “United Kingdom” are not necessarily “words that go together well” – especially when you’re used to scorching heat, days by the pool and drawers full of shorts. At least for a good few weeks a year that was part of our summers in Austria.
People here in Northern England treat anything above 18°C (64F) as “hot” and suitable for a BBQ or garden party. It always amazes (and slightly amuses) us to see all the brave men and women here powering through the often slightly chilly summer evenings in their flipflops and shorts. Perseverance is key!
Here we collected some photos of a few days out during the summer ’14. A visit to the beach in Formby for our 20th birthday, a trip to Whitby on the East coast and some days in the garden with the dog … (Yes, you recognise him from this video).
Whatever the season and weather is for you right now – be like the British and make your own summer … no, we don’t care if rain or shine … ! 🙂

What a Grand time had by all. Summertime here where I live is usually 30°c to 38°c. With the humidity feels like 45-48°c hot! Pant Pant!!!

Looks like you all had a good time a few years back for your 20th. Wish those were our summer temperatures. We are headed out Friday, with our RV, to a State Park here in Ohio for the weekend. There is an excessive heat warning. Guess we will be spending time in the lake.
“..I love the colorful clothes she wears and the way the sunlight plays upon her hair…..” A little “Good Vibrations” is what I hear seeing these lovely pictures of you both at the beach, and what wonderful sandy dunes! Both of you wearing lei’s, playing badminton, feeding a horse, and then playing in the quick sand by the beach…. It looks like the perfect summer, and you all know how to have fun in the sun. Great to see that cute “That’s Life” black pooch! Thanks for sharing a bit of your fun summer from 2014.
Nice photos! It got up to 93 F. (33.8 C) here today at my house. The next couple of days are supposed to be hotter! As I get older I don’t like the heat as much.
Lol… Those kinds of temps of summer are refreshing to me… Where I’m at in Canada. been experiencing insane heatwave temps with humidity factors to make it feel like +30 to+45 but… I’d rather melt then freeze in Canadian Winters… I’m a Spring-Summer Kinda Gal…. My perfect ideal Summer temp is to hover without humidity factor at +22 to +24ish with a slightly gentle refreshing breeze….. Lovely photos… Definitely had your seaside/ shoreside fun of Summer UK 2014!!!!
